"Mm, a little. I stayed up too late last night." She laughed a little.
"Mm, a little. I stayed up too late last night." She laughed a little.
Jade nodded, understanding. “On patrol? Or having fun?” she asked in a nonchalant tone.
"Playing video games." She replied, laughing.
“Nice.” she smiled, chuckling.
She shrugged. "Yeah. It's bad for me."
“Staying up late or playing video games?” she asked, just for clarification.
"Both. Video games are great, but not when they suck up so much of my time." she laughed.
“That’s true. But I have to admit, I enjoy video games too.” she smiled. “Recently, I actually spent almost a whole evening with… uhh, a friend.” she said, catching herself before she said too much.
She raised her eyebrows faintly. "Oh? What friend? Not your roommate, from your phrasing."
Jade blushed a little and shook her head. “No. It… It wasn't Sophie. Just another friend.”
She smirked faintly at the blush. "Just a friend?"
“I said too much about him.” she sighed, shaking her head.
She raised her eyebrows again. "Secret beau?"
Jade felt her face heat up at the question. “I… I don't know if “beau” is the right word. He's… We're… It's complicated.” she finally sighed.
She tipped her head faintly. "Complicated how?"
She turned to look at Raven with a raised brow. “Uhh, I’m a hero? That's pretty complicated on its own.” she pointed out, though it was partly an excuse… Even though it was also true.
"Mm, well, yes, but that doesn't necessarily make a relationship complicated."
“So, I’m guessing that you haven't had to lie to someone you’re dating about where you were when you were supposed to meet them or why you have to run off suddenly.” she sighed.
"I have, but a good relationship can survive that."
She chuckled softly. “Well, none of my dates have really lasted beyond the second. And very few of them were… interesting to me before this one.” she admitted, blushing again.
She nodded. "Can I ask what about this person is so interesting?"
“Oh, geez…” she groaned as she tried to think of what to say. “Well, he's a bit of a mystery. He's kind, understanding, funny, definitely handsome I’ll admit and I think he's a bit of a cuddler. But he's also been hurt and shuts down when you ask him something too personal but I can understand that and why.” she sighed again, chewing her lip slightly. “And he… He’s scared of… just a possibility of something. I know why he’s scared of it so I don't blame him but I really think that possibility is extremely minute.”
She nodded a little. "He sounds like a decent guy, but the whole…shutting down thing sounds a little worrying." she said slowly, shifting and crossing her legs.
She shrugged a little. “I mean, I do worry about it, but it's just something he doesn't want to talk about. I think it's still just a sore subject for him.”
"Ah, right, okay." she nodded again, stretching.
“I would like him to tell me more about it eventually but I'm not going to force him to talk about it.”
"Well yeah, you shouldn't force anyone to talk about omething they don't want to."
“Yeah. That tends to cause more harm than good.” she nodded.
"Mhm. He's a good guy, though?"
She nodded. “He just has a hard time seeing it. Partly because he's had a bit of a rough past but, yes. I think he is a good guy.”
