“Hey Kam.” I said “Hey Maddie, here’s your order.” I gave him the money and drank my coffee. “When will you tell us what you do? We can here you from here.” he said “Sorry, but I can’t.” I walked off and sat at the table by the window and watching outside
"Very well, I suppose I could use your knowledge to help me decimate that scroll, but for now, let's go to a cafe to think." Dove said.
She walked briskly out of the museum and looked behind her, waiting for that girl to follow.
I left my cup on the table and walked over to the cake counter. “Hey Kam, What’s thats?” He looked over the counter. “That? Its or knew lemon, and lime tart. Wanna try it?” I nodded and he handed me one. I passed him some more money “Thanks” I wen back to my table and started to eat.
Natalie quickly followed Dove. "Sure."
Dove walked into the cafe and her heart immediately began thumping when she caught sight of Kam. His freckled face lit up as he notice Dove, "Hey Dove, the regular?" her mind barely processed what he was saying as she stared into his perfect gray eyes. "Undoubtedly." Dove answered, her brain caught up to the current situation.
I watched the girls form before come in. The girl talking to Kam obviously liked him. I finished my tart and walked to the counter to return my plate and say bye to Kam. “See ya Kam, thanks for the tart” “Anytime girl, and try to keep the thumping down with whatever you do” he said “I'll try.” I walked out.
Dove's heart burned with jealousy as Kam talked to the girl from before, Maddie. "Dove, here you go." Kam gave Dove her cup of lemongrass tea and their hands briefly touched, causing Dove to jerk away and spill the tea, her cheeks reddened, "That was an unexpected consequence."
I grabbed my biggest sword and threw it at the wall in anger. Why do all the cute girls have to be straight! I threw another at the same wall, the wall that backed onto the cafe.
Natalie ordered then sat down at a table.
Dove offered to clean up the mess, but Kam said they'd do it together, so Dove cautiously wiped the floor, careful not to bump into him. She knew that she must look ridiculous and her face was buried in red. Dove immediately jumped up when they were done and bolted to the table where the girl was sitting. "Hey Dove! You still want that tea?" Kam called after her. Dove squeaked and buried her face in her hands, "No." her voice was muffled underneath her arms.
I kept throwing my weapons at the wall. I know I told Kam i would keep it down but right now I couldn’t. I pulled out all my weapons and threw them again and again. Until i heard Kam through the wall “Maddie what the hell did i say!” I rolled my eyes. “I’m sorry ok, I’ll try harder next time” I threw one last dagger as a warning shot.
Natalie took a deep breath "Okay. Umm…………." Natalie didn't really know what else to say. She drummed her fingers on her mug, thinking. She still couldn't believe that there were others like her. People with powers.
Dove looked around the cafe to make sure Kam wasn't around. Satisfied, she sat up straight and the gleam in her eye returned. "Well? I haven't got all day." Dove said, her eyes narrowing, "I've got a scroll to incinerate."
"There are several ways that I can help you. But if you want to burn the scroll we have to go back to the museum." Midnight growled under the table. "Hush Midnight. We'll leave in a minute."
I walked back and forth or a few minutes before giving into my boredom and going back into the cafe, I sat down opposite the two girls from before. “I want to help” I said i crossed my legs and started to swing them, clearly bored.
Dove glared at Maddie, clearly angry at this girl who thought she could just barge in to their conversation. She tightened her arm around her backpack protectively and scooted closer to the wall.
“Come on. I’m a trained fighter I could help” I was so bored I started braiding my hair.
Natalie looked at the other girl. She didn't feel that it was her place to say anything, so she decided to see if Dove would handle it.
"We don't need a mercenary to help us." Dove sat with her arms crossed, and picking at her fingernails, unimpressed.
“Whatever” I held my hands up. “If that’s what you think sweetheart” i winked and stood up. “If you change your mind, I’ll be next door” I walked away.
"Mhm." Dove skimmed the menu and waved Maddie off.
I threw one last dagger pinning the menu at the wall. “keep it, i have many.” I smiled sweetly and went back to my warehouse.
Dove groaned, "Another cutlass, my dads already have plenty."
“Grrrr ahhhh” i hauled my heaviest sword at the wall and it made a loud thunk “why does she have to be so arrogant” That girl was starting to get on my nerves. But I had an idea. “Hey Kam meet me outside the cafe now” i hung up and went back. “Come on” i told him “where are we going?” He asked. “Just trust me”
Natalie waited for Dove to say something.
Dove turned to meet the girl's eye, "So….You said you were going to help me, how so?"
"Like I said before. We have to go back to the museum. It's really not safe to talk about it here." Natalie crossed her fingers under the table, silently hoping that the girl would listen to her.
Kam and I made it to the museum. “What’s going on” he asked “1. Im bored and two girls in your cafe have something interesting and 2. I’m gonna help you get a date”
"Affirmative." Dove nodded and looked at the girl's wolf. "What your moniker?"
(Moniker: name)
