bloom

coming into your own
as a seasoned sociopath,
graced by the flames of hell
as the candle melts away.

paying money
for skin that isn't yours;
meaningless beauty
tears you apart senselessly.

you gave up everything,
all to feed your rotten ego.

playful poem for school; we had to come up with an unanswerable question and address it in rapid-fire word-vomit inspiration, and then arrange it with a syntax. i thought of: what if rocks are actually soft but just tense up when touched? 0_0

@requiemisback language

sending in this short poem of mine to start the day. i wrote this like 3 days ago but even so i'm gonna post it here because i really like how it flows.

-

lilac

stars light up the sky
as our hearts intertwine;
embraces leaving behind
a craving for more and more.

desires laid bare
across the vacant parking lot
forever holding our peace
beneath the darkest midnight.

hhhhhjmprhh so with this one, for class, we had to pick a song and be inspired and whatnot. the concept of (pure) desire and ?toxicity is the only thing I can think about these days so I chose 'bodys' by csh. i wont bother boring yall with song analysis but damn. will toledo really out here explaining feelings i don't have a name for. anyways here's wonderwall. for this lil bit i wanted to play with the syntax; trying to put myself into the 'memory' and map out how thoughts/observations pop up as lists and hesitations.

(WELP! I’ve disappeared from nb for the longest time but I’m back… sort of— ANYWAYS—)

Untitled.No811

I had never blew a candle on my birthday
When most of my time, I’m stuck here, wishing God for all my yesterdays
I wanted to be better, I wanted nothing more
I didn’t want to bother, but I couldn’t hold it anymore

I asked God for a blessing, God gave me a lesson
I asked God for a life, and God made me a burden
I asked God for a brighter later day,
His response was a nod, “Let me give you all your yesterdays,”

I saw the boy playing pretend on the playground
He was the prince of kingdom, and the stones made a town
He was loved, he was happy, he was brave
He was everything that I wish I am today

He found the happiness of building sandcastles on beaches
And finding winged crickets on the side of some branches
While I’m here stressing over grades and my performance
The boy I was before was running miles to test his endurance

AND FOR FUCK’S SAKE. WHY AM I SEEING ALL OF THIS?!
I was falling down a spiral deeper than I think I did
When I saw the ground, I closed my eyes, and pretend that it’s the end of it
But as it turns out, negativity has no end to it

I saw a million different memories I’d missed
I delved deeper down thinking that I’ll find the end of it
Under the depths of this heart I call mine,
I knew I’d find that kid somewhere, I need him to be alive

What I missed most wasn’t just roses on Valentines,
Neither was it just the presents on Christmas of 2009,
Neither were the trips to Japan when I was five,
All I wanted was for the childish side of mine to stay alive

And for it to live, and live on inside this body
It may not be perfect, but I crave childish fantasies
And God smiled, seeing that I embraced my own duality
I may not be perfect, but I’ll try to be the best of ‘ME’

I had never blew a candle on my birthday

I misread “candle” as “castle” and now you may or may not have inspired me to make my own poem off of that idea

@amber_is_in_a_loop

not a poem, but there's a trend going around on tiktok where people write another verse for bo burnham's inside so, here

the train will be an hour late due to trespassers on the track
a picture frame that holds a smile you know you can't get back

running for the school bus to a song that you've outgrown
imagining the joy and fear of living on your own

knowing every word to a film you know will break your heart
flinching at how good it feels when the water gets too hot

waiting after class for the teacher to ask you how you've been
rain so strong it gets into your head, washes you clean

hehe time for a poem comeback
my own poem thread kinda went south, plus i had a name change so HERE WE ARE BACK WITH MY CRAPPY POEMS :D
cw: blood imagery

♡ candlelight ♡

blood seeps from the clouds
buried underneath scarlet hues,
wishing for a better afterlife
yet simply gaining the opposite.

we've lost ourselves
as a means to an end
for the very person
we entrusted our lives to.

it didn't have to end this way…
did it?

@Mojack group

Rekindled my enjoyment of poetry, here’s some I wrote recently
They’re all based in my stories/characters I’ve written

rising from the mountains
the skies and earth tremble for
death is a mercy
/
eyes burn eternal
protector, yet destroyer
never be silenced
/
boy fighting man’s war
this world, when will it all stop
a mind numbed by war
/

“Lonely.”

Your lips said “later”
But your eyes said “it’s over”
My mouth said “yeah”
But my heart said “wait.”

The silence said “you’re lonely”
And the pictures said “you’re happy,”
My brain kept saying “call her”
But my heart said “it’s too late.”

The phone told me that “it’s not you”
But a small voice said “it is,”
My mind said “we can move on”
But my heart can’t take the weight.

slowly begins to applaud

@requiemisback language

✧ fragments ✧

memories of my past lives
flash by like lightning bolts
targeting all the folks
who dared to detest them.

why do you waste your time
worrying about the people
that do not worry about you,
and even forgot your name?

that sweetest scents of desire
shall not corrupt you, mi caro;
do not let their slimy claws
tear into your silky flesh.

put your faith in me,
and i will fix this rotten world.

So this is Love

why must the rain fall upon the dreary nights
Is it destiny to fall so hard you seperate into pieces and soak up the dried ground
The ground that hurts as much as Any other pain.
The pain that aches deep within the hearts of others
Hearts of others that break quicker than a knife to a rope.
Rope that will soon tie down the love you once desired.
She desired you.
You betrayed her.
Her heart shattered like glass.
The glass reveals the side we never wish to see.
Wishing to see a happier way of life.
Life that can be easily taken if not careful
Careful hands of the loving mothers.
Mothers who shatter your dreams.
Dreams of dark dreary nights when the rain breaks the silence between words.
Words of love
Love dies and lives.
Lives within deep souls of hurt and anger
Angry that you call this love.
So this is love

trying to work on minimalism/efficiency and took up a lil challenge to write sumn with 10 randomized words: lazy, treatment, blind, zonked, sky, stove, puzzled, reach, rings, cruel. also trying to work on using humour since i <3 the ny school of poets.

-Time ends
-Jacen Wardwell

As the nights fall,
And the weeks come to end,
My time with you,
Grows very thin.
My heart, my love,
I want nothing more,
Then to spend each moment with you,
Until we have no more.

I was actually referring to @francis 's poem, but now that I went back and read yours again, I can say the same about it! I love how you linked each line to the next, very cool xD

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

( @PunsAndShips I like it! It sends a message I agree with, assuming I'm interpreting it correctly lol. As an artist, it strikes a chord because I sometimes get caught up in other people's opinions of my work and forget to draw stuff that makes me happy and reflects who I am. And it can be isolating to be true to yourself, but ultimately I think the rewards are worth it. Not sure if that's what you were trying to say at all, but it's what I got thinking about x'D )

this was just for fun. nothing to analyze but I'm having fun trying to map out what my thought process was for each stanza. if anyone's bored and interested; i'd like to know what 'story/stories' you can make up about the tidbits here.

Here is a poem
IT IS NOT MINE. I FOUND IT IN A BOOK.
But Idk who wrote it.

Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
he wrote a poem
And called it “Chops”
because that was the name of his dog
And that’s what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
Valentine signed with a row of X’s
and he had to ask his father what the X’s meant
And his father always tucked him into bed at night
And was always there to do it.
Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
he wrote a poem
And called it “Autumn”
because that was the name of the season
And that’s what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because of its new paint
And the kids told him
that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister got glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
And the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to to see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him in at night
And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it.
Once on a paper torn from his notebook
he wrote a poem
And he called it “Innocence: A Question”
because the question was about his girl
And that’s what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
and a strange steady look
And his mother never hun it on the kitchen door
because he never showed her
That was the year that Father Tracy died
And he forgot how the end
of the Apostle’s Creed went
And caught his sister
making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
Or even talked
And the girl on the corner
wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three A.M he tucked himself into bed
His father snoring soundly

P.S, THANK YOU for helping me with the spoiler thing ^-^

Beeeeautiful as always fam! I get a lot of intense Midwestern vibes from the last three verses, but I could be biased since that's my all-time favorite vibe xD I don't know if I get any stories from them per se, but I do get some strong and surreal mental imagery, which is to me a sign of a good poem lol. Keep it up!
