Love walked over to Sadness and gave her a hug, "I'll mourn with you Sadness."

“Thanks,” Sadness sniffled. “But it will never replace Goldy!” She started crying again.

Love cried with her, "Goldy was such a good fish!"

"Actually, we may be getting a dog!" Trust said hopefully.

"Nop nope nope.!" Joy sang as she put a lightbulb in her mind that had her favorite song.

“I don’t want a dog! I want goldy!”

Love popped up, "Ooooo, I love this song!"

"Why can't we just slow down and wait, instead of getting all h-hyped, Hyped? Yeah, that's right. Hyped about something that might not happen." Patience said, his voice light and delicate. "And why a song now?"

“Yeah! Goldy desrves proper mourning!”

"She needs to have a positive start." She added. She directed Mia to the bathroom and made her look in the mirror.

"Why not a song now?" Love asked Patience, "Songs are great."

“Songs… make… me… sad!” Sadness choked out between sobs.

"Love dear, have you ever thought about what it might be like to wake up and have a song blaring in your head?" Patience asked.

“It’s… just…. SAD!”

"Yeah," Love responded, "I would love it!"

"Yes, but you know Mia isn't one emotion, she's all of us," Patience kept a calm smile on his face.

“But….” Sadness couldn’t even form a full thought through her vale of tears at this point.

Love sighed, "I would love to be more than one emotion. Oh wait," she giggled, "I said love again."

They heard Mia's dad walking down the hallway. "What about some SURPRISE!" Surprise excitedly suggested before getting Mia to hide behind her door.

Patience's smile widened for a moment, knowing that at least some of them were happy.

"But if we scare him he won't trust us!"

"Yeah!" Love shrieked, "I love surprise!"

(I just keep saying love about a bunch of different things. So you good Turtle.)

"The most that'd happen is pleasant surprise," Indignation commented, stealing a glance at Surprise. "Nothing bad."

"Can't we get this done and over with already?" Impatience groaned.
Rudeness still had a piece of tape over his mouth that someone had placed there the day before.

"Guys, many people anticipate surprises after a while. They get boring." Anticipation muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.

"But that would ruin the surprise!" Love cried at Impatience.

Ripping the piece of tape off, Rudeness muttered a curse before commenting, "You know what would surprize me is if you would be quiet for once, Love."
Impatience slapped him on the arm. She appreciated things as much as the next emotion did, but it just felt like things dragged on too much at times. Okay most times.
