Lucas rested his head on Melissa's, trying to find some way to help her calm down. "Do you want a blanket?"
Lucas rested his head on Melissa's, trying to find some way to help her calm down. "Do you want a blanket?"
Shaking her head some, she glanced up at him. "You- you talking helps…" Melissa murmured, shifting her gaze elsewhere.
Lucas nodded a bit. "Alright… I'll keep talking then." He started quietly rambling on about this and that to keep Melissa distracted.
Melissa steadily started to relax in his arms, letting out a weak sigh. Looking up at him, a smile pulled up as she reached up to hold his face in her hand.
Lucas paused in his narrative when Melissa touched his face, gently smiling down at her. "Are you feeling any better?"
Melissa nodded a little, starting to play with his hair. "Yeah, a little…" She mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder. "Thank you…"
"No problem, Mel… anything else I can do to help?" Lucas asked softly, leaning into Melissa's gentle touch.
"Not really… at least that I can think of." Melissa shrugged, shifting so her head was on his chest. "We can get up in a couple of minutes if you want to…"
"Okay… I should probably try and do some homework today." Lucas yawned a bit.
"Mm… noooo…" Melissa whined, holding onto him a little tighter. "Homework stresses you out…"
"I know, Mel, but I still gotta do it…" He sighed softly and huddled closer to Melissa.
Looking up at him, she let out a soft sigh before curling back up. "It doesn't seem fair you have to do it all."
"I know… but I don't make the rules. I still gotta do it." Lucas shrugged a bit.
“Those rules are dumb…” Melissa mumbled, letting out a weak sigh. “Do you have to get up and do it now?”
"Not right now, no. I can wait a few minutes if you wanna cuddle some more." Lucas shrugged a bit.
“I mean- yeah, I do, but school is more important… you don’t have to stay if you have to get it done.” Melissa insisted, keeping her head on his chest.
"Mm… but I love you…" Lucas murmured, resting his head against Melissa's. "It can wait a couple more minutes."
"Mm… you sure?" She asked softly, burying her face in his chest. "I can let you go do it…"
"I'm sure, Mel. It's not gonna disappear or anything. It can wait a few minutes."
Melissa nodded a little, curling up in his arms even more. "M'kay… if you're really sure."
Lucas nodded a bit and huddled closer to Melissa, closing his eyes as he relaxed. He knew he really needed to get the work done, but he could worry about that later.
Melissa did her best to relax in his arms, letting her eyes close as well. She loosened her hold on him as she laid there, but stayed close.
"I love you, Mel…" Lucas murmured softly, keeping Melissa close to himself. I really need to get up soon, though…
Melissa picked her head up, giving him a weak smile. "Love you too…" She hummed, oblivious to his thoughts.
Lucas shifted on the couch to get more comfortable with Melissa on him, yawning and sighing softly.
Melissa shifted as well, looking up at him with a soft smile. “Thank you, for taking care of me…”
"No problem, Mel… I'll probably have to get up soon." Lucas sighed softly.
“Mm… nooo…” Melissa started to pout, burying her face in his shoulder again. “It’s not fair…”
"I know, Mel, but I gotta do homework." Lucas gently kissed Melissa again.
After a couple moments, she let go of him, starting to sit up. “Then you should go do it. I don’t want to keep you from it.” She mumbled, rubbing at her eyes some.
