Lucas nodded a bit. "You think I'd be this flustered if I didn't?" He laughed weakly.
Lucas nodded a bit. "You think I'd be this flustered if I didn't?" He laughed weakly.
Melissa looked over to him, giving him a weak smile. “I guess not…” She mumbled, starting to get up with her dishes. “Thank you for breakfast, darling.”
"Yeah, of course, Mel…" Lucas got up as well, bringing his plate over to the sink. "I love you."
Melissa smiled softly, leaving her plate in the sink. “I love you,” She replied, stepping back. “I’ll wash my dishes in a bit, I just… I don’t want to get this wet.”
Lucas nodded a bit. "I can wash the dishes. I don't mind." He smiled gently and kissed Melissa's cheek.
“Lucas, you don’t have to. I just need to change before I do.” Melissa insisted, kissing him softly in return. “I don’t mind,”
Lucas shrugged a bit. "It'll save time anyway. But you're welcome to change if you'd like."
“If you're going to do it anyways, I might as well keep it on.” She hummed, holding onto his hand loosely. “Besides, you think I’m pretty in it.”
"I always think you're pretty, Mel." Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and smiled gently.
Melissa flushed a bit more, burying her face in his shoulder. “Mmm… do you really?” She asked softly, holding onto him a little tighter.
"Of course I do." Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and closed his eyes.
Melissa leaned into his arms, keeping her head on his shoulder. Looking up at him, she gave him a small smile. “I’m glad you think so, Lu.” She hummed softly, wrapping her arms loosely around his neck. She was growing clingier by the minute, not wanting to pull back.
Lucas nodded a bit, glad to let Melissa hold onto him. "Is there anything you wanted to do today?" He asked.
Melissa shook her head a bit, pulling back enough to look at him. “No… not really, besides maybe playing in the snow.” She hummed a little, her features growing soft as she studied his face. “Your eyes are really lovely, did you know that?” She asked softly.
Lucas flushed red at the compliment, not entirely sure what to do with himself. "I-I… ah… thank you?" He replied shyly.
Melissa smiled still, reaching up to hold his face in her hand. “Mhmm…” She hummed softly, kissing the tip of his nose before resting her chin back on his shoulder. “Sorry…” She hummed, burying her face in his shoulder.
"N-No problem, um… I… I-I'm glad you think so, Mel…" He murmured, still seeming pretty flustered. "Your eyes are pretty too."
Melissa only smiled more at that, before burying her face in his shoulder. "Thank you, love…" She mumbled, holding onto him still.
"Mhmm…" Lucas looked away, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "If we're gonna play in the snow, you'll probably wanna wear something warmer."
Melissa pulled back again, loosely holding onto his hand with a smile. "Yeah… I should probably go change then." She hummed a little, a fond smile staying on her face.
"Alright…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and sighed. "I love you, Mel." He murmured softly.
"I love you, darling…" Melissa hummed softly, head on his shoulder. "You're one of my favorite people, Lucas. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Lucas flushed harder and paused for a moment, struggling to function. "I-I… uh… m-me either, Mel…" He stammered.
Melissa eventually pulled back, looking up at him. "I'll go ahead and go change… I'll be down in just a couple of minutes." She hummed softly, kissing him before disappearing up the stairs.
"Alright, Mel. See you soon." Lucas cleaned up the dishes from breakfast, pulled on his coat, and waited for Melissa to come down.
After a couple minutes, Melissa came downstairs, a pair of boots in her hand. “Is Cody coming with us?” She asked softly, sitting at the bottom of the stairs to put them on.
"Mhmm." Lucas grabbed Cody's leash and hooked him up to it. "You wanna go to the clearing? Or just stay in the front yard?"
“I don’t really care, whatever you wanna do.” Melissa hummed, getting up and reaching for her coat. “I should probably tell my dad if we’re leaving though.”
"Yeah, probably… if you're fine with walking in the snow, I think it could be nice to go to the clearing." He shrugged a bit.
“Yeah, of course. I don’t mind.” Melissa hummed, taking his hand in hers. “I’ll be fine to walk.”
