"Mm… yeah." Lucas sat up from the couch and yawned, running his fingers through his hair as he looked over at Melissa. "How was your shift?"
"Mm… yeah." Lucas sat up from the couch and yawned, running his fingers through his hair as he looked over at Melissa. "How was your shift?"
Melissa jumped a bit when he sat up, turning towards him. "Meh… fine I guess." She mumbled, pulling her coat and shoes off. Leaving the wet things by the door, she walked over to where he had been laying. "How was your evening?"
"Boring… just did some homework and got ready for bed." Lucas shrugged a bit and pet Cody, who was sleeping in his lap.
Melissa gave him a weak smile, going around to sit on the couch next to him. "Mm, I'd rather do that, than be running around all night. Sounds nice." She hummed, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Mm…" Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and yawned again. "It's not fun, but yeah, I guess it's better than running around… what time is it?"
"I have no clue, honestly… I didn't pay much attention." Melissa mumbled, yawning after he did. "Mm… it started snowing on the way home. I think we're gonna get a decent amount tonight."
"Oh, really?" Lucas closed his eyes, humming softly. "That's fun. Means it'll be cold tomorrow, though…"
"Mm, yeah. Not looking forward to that… but maybe we could play outside again?" Melissa asked softly, looking up at him with a sleepy smile. "I'd say we go out now, but I don't want to drag you out."
"Yeah, maybe… and yeah, the morning would be better. I'm pretty tired… I know Cody liked the snow last time too."
Melissa laughed weakly, kissing his cheek with a soft smile. "Mm, well if you're tired I should let you sleep. We can go out in the morning." She hummed, starting to get up.
"Alright, sounds good to me… I'll see you in the morning, Mel." Lucas tightly curled up on the couch again, keeping Cody close to himself.
Melissa gave him a weak smile before disappearing upstairs. The next morning, Melissa was still upstairs in her room, despite being awake. She was sitting at her desk, makeup spread across the whole desk as she sat there playing with it.
Lucas woke up relatively early, but was able to sleep a bit more than usual. He headed into the kitchen to make breakfast for himself and Melissa.
Melissa came down a little while later, wearing the dress she had worn to homecoming. "Mm, morning Lu… how are you?" She asked, pulling the fridge door open.
"I'm alright." Lucas looked at Melissa curiously, a bit taken aback by the fact that she was wearing something so fancy so early in the morning. "Are you… going somewhere?"
"Mm… nope. Why?" Melissa asked softly, turning to look at him. Glancing down at herself, the realization hit her. "Oh- uh right. This. I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. And I got bored."
"I guess that makes sense?" Lucas still seemed a bit confused, and his cheeks were lightly flushed. "W-Well, I mean, you're welcome to wear whatever you want to…"
Melissa smiled softly, kissing his cheek before pouring herself a drink. "Mm, it's been a while since I've worn this. I mean, how often do you get to dress up?" She hummed a bit, still smiling at him.
"Very rarely, personally." Lucas returned the kiss and kept coming breakfast. "I don't really own anything fancy anyway."
"Mm, doesn't surprise me honestly. Like I said, how often are you going to need something nice like that?" Melissa hummed, coming up and wrapping her arms around him from behind.
"Yeah…" Lucas flushed a bit when Melissa hugged him, but tried not to react too much. "Are you ready for breakfast?"
"Mm, I guess so." Melissa hummed, kissing his shoulder. She kept her chin on his shoulder, nuzzling against him a bit.
"C-Cool…" Lucas flushed a bit harder at that and brought breakfast over to the table so he and Melissa could eat.
Melissa had let him go and followed behind him quietly. Sitting down at the table, she gave him a soft smile. "Thanks, Lu…"
"No problem, Mel…" Lucas sat down and started eating, still looking a bit flustered.
Melissa looked up at him after a couple minutes, giving him a confused look. “What’s wrong?” She asked softly, reaching for her glass.
"N-Nothing, I just…" Lucas cleared his throat awkwardly and looked away, his cheeks still pink. "You look pretty…"
Melissa looked up at him, her face flushing quite a bit. A little smile played at her lips, as she fidgeted with her fork. “I- um… thanks, love.” She mumbled, tucking her hair out of her face.
Lucas looked up at Melissa meekly and shoved another forkful of food into his mouth to shut himself up, his face still quite red.
Melissa continued to quietly eat, eventually glancing over to him. “I- um, you… you really meant that?” She asked softly, fidgeting with her fingers a little.
