Griffin had been waiting in an alley downtown with their robot companion, Subject C. Subjects A and B had been complete and utter failures, so thus, Subject C. However, Griffin had grown tired of robots after they had managed to create a fully sentient one, so they were expanding their horizons to more biological matters. This complicated things when they couldn’t find the right person to test on. Too thin to tolerate the experiments, too tall for the examination table, too short for the examination table, too thick-headed to be worthwhile, too old to survive anything Griffin could do to them. So they waited, until suddenly, coming up ahead, the perfect man, the perfect subject.
Tyler wasn’t necessarily paying attention to where he was going, just wandering around town, enjoying the scenery. He had just moved a few weeks ago and was still getting used to the area. So meaningless strolls were his way of getting acquainted. He barely even noticed Griffin, too caught up in his own thoughts.
Griffin motioned to Subject C, and the android pounced, wrapping a hand around the man’s mouth before he could even scream. The android was much stronger than the other man, and before you knew it he was handcuffed in the spacious back of a red van, a barrier between them so he wouldn’t be getting any ideas and tinted windows to avoid suspicion.
And…this was not at all how Tyler had been expecting his day to go, to say the very least. Only once he was trapped in the van did he really have time to process everything that had just happened, and even then, it didn’t make much sense. So all he could do was wait, he supposed.
When they got to Griffin’s home, it was dark. The air was cool and crisp, and smelled like rain. Well, it always smelled like rain, out here thing always rained or had just rained, so it was constantly damp and dreary. However, the view of the lake was spectacular, and Griffin’s small manor rested on a hill overlooking the place. Subject C slung Tyler over its shoulder and began to walk into the house, paying no mind to any struggle the man might make. Out here, nobody was around to hear you scream.
