"You're being a pessimist." Victor replied, shaking his head a little bit.
"You're being a pessimist." Victor replied, shaking his head a little bit.
“I’m trying to keep you safe! You’re the closest thing to family I will ever have, and losing you would be devastating.” it retorted.
Victor blinked. "I…suppose so, yes, but…." he trailed off.
“Well, if that’s settled then… what sort of classes do you have?” the AI asked, trying to change the subject.
"Mostly technology stuff, I suppose." He replied with a slight shrug. "There's a few other things as well."
“I see. I just wanted to make a calendar, you see. To track what you’re doing, in case something happens. Unless that’s too… what could be the word… possessive? I promise you, I am not trying to control you.” it said sheepishly, if AI could be sheepish.
Victor hummed faintly. "I can…give you a copy of my class schedule, I suppose? But you can't be with me all the time, you know. You have a camera; I'm not letting you follow me into the bathroom."
“I don’t plan on following you around everywhere, anywhere, even. I just… if something happened, it would be good to know where to find you.” it said.
Victor nodded a little, reaching into his bag and holding out a schedule where Anima could see. "There you go."
Anima scanned it, then filed it away for later. This was good, good to know. Now it could keep Victor safe, or at least not need to worry as much.
Victor set the schedule away again, letting out a soft hum as he headed into his classroom.
The AI followed, rolling down underneath the desk by Victor’s bag.
“Ahem. Victor, no pets allowed, even those artificial in nature,” the teacher said.
“I am not a pet. I am simply here to observe.”
“So you’re a spying device then?”
“By no means! I am here to learn, like everyone else is,” it said.
“Hmmph, it’s polite. Alright then, you can stay.” she said. She passed Victor a packet, and moved on. They were notes for the slide show, she was concerned most students didn’t type notes out correctly.
Victor took the packet, remaining quiet about Anima. He got out a pencil, sharpening it to a point, and prepared to get to work.
