“I’d like to have a go, if you don’t mind. Lo, you share my love of cooking, as well as being one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, I can respect that. Sherlock, you are incredibly smart and gifted, and you have a lovely voice. Jonathan, you’re empathetic and very sweet. Mina, you’re analytical, and a lovely partner in conversation. Alek, your mind is fascinating, to say the least.” Eden listed off their names and the things they admired about them. When they got to Victor, they hesitated. They still hurt from last night, but they knew it was their fault, so they made the best of things. “Victor, you’re the smartest person I know. You… you gave me life. I should be more grateful to you.”

“Damn right you should be. I’ll be in the laboratory, I have no interest in playing along with your little game.” Victor snarked, walking out of the kitchen and allowing his food to get cold.

Mina felt herself flush, nearly crying with all the compliments. Jonathan blinked, blushing with surprise at being included.
“You guys are so sweet,” she warbled, taking off her glasses to wipe her eyes. Then Victor left, and she felt the warmth run cold. She didn’t even get a chance to apologize…
Later. There’s always later.
She wanted to keep that warmth and good natured atmosphere, saying, “Oh, let me do everyone else as well. We’ll let those who wish to leave, leave.” She looked to Jonathan. “Darling, thank you so much for being here with me. I’m so grateful for your loyalty and courage.” She kissed his cheek, taking his arms around wrapping them around her waist. Jonathan flushed even more, grinning uncontrollably and unable to say anything. She grinned back, then turned to the others. “Lo, I also think we’ll have a wonderful time getting to know each other. I love your practicality and bubbly nature, and your willingness to stand your ground. Sherlock, I also admire your intellect and curiosity. And Alek, I may not know much about you, but have to admit, your mysteriousness and eccentric demeanor is charming.” She smiled at each in turn, wanting to keep the peace.

Sherlock looked a bit taken aback by the compliments. "Er…my thanks." They said slowly, trying to think of things to say to the others. "Lo, I admire that you are so cheerful, from what I have seen. Mina and Johnathan, you two seem very tenacious and perhaps more than commonly intelligent." Well, at least they were trying, right? Even if they sounded awkward and almost backhanded with some of it. "And Eden, you are quite the fascinating person and I look forward to learning more about you. Alek, I don't know much about you, but I believe you seem to be capable, in your own way."

Alek cleared his throat faintly. "I, ah…thanks." he said softly, not really sure what to say in response.
