Jade nodded slowly. “Yeah… I know a little about that.” she admitted softly.
Jade nodded slowly. “Yeah… I know a little about that.” she admitted softly.
Max nodded faintly. "Yeah."
Jade cleared her throat a little. “Anyways… I guess that's one of the reasons why he let me come meet you when you called.”
"Probably. Although technically you were only meeting Alex, I came along later." He laughed softly.
“Oh! Right.” Jade laughed with an embarrassed blush. “Sorry, about that.”
He laughed. "It's fine, it's fine. It's nice that Killian brought you, though. He needs people. Good people, I mean."
Jade nodded softly. “I can agree with that. But at least he has the both of you.” she smiled. “You probably understand him better than I do.”
"Yeah. I don't know about understanding him, though." He laughed a little. "It's…I don't know. He has a wall, I think, that he doesn't really let down."
Jade chuckled and nodded at that. “I have encountered the wall. I guess I can sort of understand why he has it. Though I honestly would like to know what is on the other side of it.” she admitted.
"Yeah." Max said softly. "I'm not sure how much of his history he's shared with you, but…it's not phenomenal."
“I… know enough. Enough to understand how hard it must have been for him to grow up.” she amended softly. “Or understand as much as possible for someone who has not gone through that first hand.”
"Yeah." Max said quietly. "He does his best, though."
“I’m sure he does.” Jade nodded a little at that, wondering how being a costumed villain counted as someone’s best. She highly doubted that Max and Alex knew about Killian’s double identity and she wasn't about to mention it. Though considering he practically grew up in a gang… It was easier to stick with what you knew, she supposed.
(dfhkjdj Max and Alex do not know about that part lmao)
Max let out a sigh. "I don't know. He's…complicated, I guess." he laughed a little, shaking his head.
(I figured they didn't)
“Complicated… Well, that's one way to describe him.” she shrugged. “Trying to read him sometimes… It's like trying to understand encrypted coding with a blindfold.”
He laughed a little. "I'll have to take your word for that, but yeah."
Jade blushed a little for making such a technical simile but it seemed fairly accurate considering she could read encrypted coding once she figured out the encryption. “Yeah… It is as hard as it sounds.” she admitted sheepishly. “Though… I do enjoy a good challenge.” she smiled.
"Yeah." He smiled softly, looking over at her.
She was still blushing, just for a different reason at the moment as she hoped she didn't say too much… or too embarrassing.
He laughed a little, and looked over at Alex.
Jade lowered her head a little as her ears started burning but followed his gaze towards Alex.
Alex was playing on one of the games, not paying attention to them.
Jade let out a soft breath that she had only embarrassed herself in front of one person… Though she wouldn't be surprised if Max told his partner what she said. She shook her head a little to clear it and smiled politely.
Max was quiet, looking around the arcade.
“How long have you both been coming here?” Jade asked, changing the topic away from Killian and herself.
"Uhm…a while. I don't know exactly. Since we were dating." He said.
She nodded with a soft smile at the answer. “That’s very sweet.”
"Yeah. It's kind of…we come here and hang out, have fun." He smiled again.
Jade nodded again. “I can see why. This is a nice place… And you two have a history here.”
"Yeah, exactly." Max said.
