(It's fine, I understand. Your health (In this case, sleep) is way more important than any RP.)
"Well I suppose you're right. If there is any leftover food, donate it to the village. They need it more than the castle's compost. However, I would like to start on the chicken. It has always been my favourite dish of yours."
The chef took Amelia towards the meal of choice, which Amelia immediately took a bite of. She melted internally from bliss. "Deliciously perfect, as always."
The chef smiled at both of Amelia's comment. It didn't matter how many time one would complement I'm on his cooking, he couldn't help but break out into a smile. He shook his head and looked at the princess.
"Of course, princess. I'll make sure to donate any remaining food to the village after the coronation." He paused. "I'm glad."
Amelia licked the flavour off her fingers, then delicately cleaned them on a serviette. She turned back to the chef, smiling. "Well, I trust that all of this food tastes just as exquisite. Now, if you don't mind, I need to go visit the seamstress about my coronation dress. Please excuse me."
While exiting, Amelia spotted Theodosia. In a sudden act, she walked over. "Theodosia, would you like to accompany me to my dress fitting?"
She looked up from the ice rose she was still admiring. She looked confused for a moment, not quite registering the question Amelia had just asked her. The moment of confusion passed quite quickly however, because the next moment she was standing up and patting her dress.
"Of course, Amelia," Theodosia said as she gave her a warm smile.
Amelia smiled and began to walk into the hall, aware that Theodosia would be following her. She paused, waiting for the other girl to catch up.
"Theodosia? Do you…do you think I'll be a good queen?"
Theodosia quickly caught up with Amelia, and she stopped in tracks the moment Amelia asked her a question.
"Of course I do. I know you'll make a great queen, despite what some people in the castle staff say. . ." She said as her sentence trailed off. She shook her head and smiled. "With you in charge, I know you're going to do being great things."
(do you wanna do a time skip to the coronation or not yet?)
Amelia blushed and smiled, the words of Theodosia meaning a lot to her. "Thank you. You're probably the first person to actually say that to me. My parents always said that I wouldn't be able to run the kingdom and that I should leave it to man. And most of my advisors say it because they're scared that I'll freeze them."
(Yeah, time skip to the coronation.)
Theodosia laughed a bit and smiled back at Amelia. "Yeah, well they're wrong. Men aren't the only ones who can run the kingdom. This kingdom has had some great queens, and I'm positive that you'll be amongst them. Most of your advisors are probably already scared and knowing that you can freeze them. . .well I imagine they must be living a nightmare. Trying their best not to anger you. . ."
Amelia paced outside the throne room, her dress trailing behind her. She was nervous to become queen, worried that she wouldn't be good enough. She stopped and looked through the gap in the doors, seeing the crown that would truly name her as queen. She knew that many of the kingdom's villagers didn't gree with her not marrying, and she was scared that she would be a bad queen because of that.
Theodosia sighed when she saw Amelia pacing outside the throne room. She quietly approached her and put a hand on her shoulder. "It's all going to be okay. The people out there will love you. Not all of them, but that's not what's important. I believe you're going to be a great queen."
Amelia jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, but relaxed when she saw that it was Theodosia. She began to take deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She nodded, making it clear that she was ready.
The doors were opened, and Amelia began to walk down the center. All eyes were on her, but she mostly ignored them and kept walking.
Theodosia smiled as Amelia began walking down the center. She stayed near the entrance of the throne room, hidden in sight from everyone else in the room. She knew she had things to do, but in all honestly, she wanted to see the coronation more than doing work.
Amelia came to a stop in front of the one who would crown her, beside the case that held her crown. She took a deep breath as the crown was taken out, then kneeled for it to be placed on her head.
Theodosia watched as the crown was placed on Amelia's head. He mentioned for the newly crowned queen to get up, and when Amelia did, he said, "Her Royal Highness Queen Amelia Victoria Louis of the Kingdom of Oscana." The people stood up and clapped, some stood up but didn't clap.
Amelia slowly made her way to her throne, cautiously sitting in it. The throne beside her was still covered in ice, and likely would be for a long time. She looked out at everyone in the small crowd, and her eyes caught Theodosia.
Theodosia gave Amelia a smile and waved at her before disappearing back into the crowd. Unlike the others in the crowd, she wasn't a guest, but instead see was a worker who should have been working at the moment. She madenher way out of the crowd. "Excuse me. I'm terribly sorry, but could you. . .? Ah, thank you." She said as a couple of people moved out of her way so she could pass.
Amelia saw Theodosia leaving, and her heart sank. She seemed to be the only person to make her feel better. Amelia wasn't afraid to admit that she thought she liked Theodosia, to a romantic point. So the other girl leaving made her feel slightly empty in a room full of people she didn't know.
(Poor Amelia)
She looked at the newly crowned queen and gave her a smile before disappearing from the room. The servants had much work to do now that the rest of the guest were starting to come in. She rushed to the kitchen and started helping around, wanting to get everything running smoothly.
Someone started to shout over the crowd. "Queen Amelia! When are you going to marry and give Oscana a king?!"
Amelia stood up quickly, her eyes scanning the crowd. "Who said that?"
The person stepped forward, and ice shot towards them and held their hands together in makeshift handcuffs.
"I do not need to marry a man to rule my kingdom. It doesn't have to man, nor to I have to marry. I am going to make changes that my parents failed to take note of. I would rather watch my kingdom fall than let a man rule it for me."
Gasps were heard from around the room, and some whispering too.
"You heard that, Penny? She would rather let her own kingdom fall than letting a man rule it! She'll doom us all!" She whispered to the young woman beside her. She, of course, didn't know that she had whispered loud enough for the other guests in the room to hear.
Despite the fact Theodosia had left the room, one of her friends was still in the room. He had decided to stay in case something interesting happened, and by golly, was things getting interesting. He mentally made a note to tell Theodosia what happened.
Ice handcuffs shot towards the people who Amelia heard speak. This silenced the crowd. "I need you to know that I am not going to arrest you. The castle dungeons will only be filled with people who deserve it, and they will be tried and punished accordingly. I am not my mother, and I am certainly not my father. I alone am the ruler of Oscana. I will not let it be ruled by another, not until the day I die. Even then, the next ruler will be whoever I nominate. The kingdom of Oscana will never be ruled by an outside as long as I am alive. Do I make myself clear to every single one of you?"
"Y-yes your majesty," The people who had spoke said in union, quite scared that Amelia would decide after all to send them to the castle's dungeon or even worse, to freeze them and make them ice sculptures. Theodosia's friend steathly made his way out of the throne room and quickly made his way to the kitchen.
"Theo! You have no idea what just happened!"
"Er, Jace, could you possibly tell me later? I'm quit-"
No, I have to tell you now. So some people started talking bad about the queen and she got angry. Like I mean super angry. And she had those people in ice handcuffs and explained that they weren't going to the castle's dungeon. Oh, and she also said how a man wasn't going to rule the kingdom and how no outsider would rule the kingdom as long as she was alive. It was actually quite interesting."
Theodosia sighed. "It would've been better if she did send them to the dungeons. It would have served them well."
Jace nodded and started helping around.
"Good." The ice handcuffs disappeared. "My father was a tyrant. He stole from the poor and arrested anyone he thought deserved it. My mother went along with it as she was a coward. I will not be either of them. The kingdom is going to change. For the better." Her eyes gazed over the crowd. Her crown perched perfectly atop her head, glinting in the sunlight streaming through. She motioned to the other throne. "This throne will remain iced until the time I decide it will not be. It will not melt, and I highly suggest not trying to break it, as it will not break either." Amelia stood. "From this day forth, Oscana will be a better kingdom. People will want to live here. It will prosper under my ruling. I will see to it."
The people in the throne room nodded, not wanting to anger the Queen even more. Not many people agreed with her. They believed that a man should be the one ruling the kingdom. But as long as they were in the castle, the couldn't say a word about it. Afraid that the newly crowned queen would decide to execute them.
A man entered the throne room, telling the people that in a couple of minutes, they would be escorted to another room for the meal.
Amelia waited until every guest had exited and the doors were closed before collapsing into her throne. She knew this would happen. She knew that her subjects wouldn't accept her as Queen without a husband to rule for her. She knew that this whole thing was utterly pointless.
Theodosia looked around the kitchen. She could let others take care of everything and pay a quick visit to Amelia. She sneaked out of the kitchen and ran into the throne room. She spotted Amelia on her throne, looking pretty exhausted. "Your majesty, are you alright?" Theodosia asked a bit worried. She knew that the coronation didn't go exactly as both women would have wanted it to go.
Amelia sat up straight when she heard someone speaking. She was Queen now, and she needed to act the part constantly. She almost dropped it when she saw that it was Theodosia, but figured it was best not to.
"No, I'm perfectly fine. Why do you ask?"
"Well for one, you don't look okay. You look pretty exhausted. And second, I heard what happened in this room. Don't try to fool me saying that you're perfectly fine, because it isn't going to work. Well, at least not with me. I know your queen now and you have to constantly act the part, but whatever we discuss won't leave this room. I promise. So, let me ask this one more time, Amelia, are you okay?"
