Samul kissed Larkin's head in turn, holding him close.
"You're welcome, sweetie," he said softly. He carried his lover into the kitchen, keeping close as he pulled the bacon out.
Samul kissed Larkin's head in turn, holding him close.
"You're welcome, sweetie," he said softly. He carried his lover into the kitchen, keeping close as he pulled the bacon out.
Larkin sniffed at the bacon a bit when Samul picked it up, whining needily. "Mmmm… it won't take too long, will it?"
"No, not at all," Samul promised. He kissed Larkin's head, setting the bacon out on the pan. It cooked fairly quickly, and it wasn't long before Samul was patting the bacon dry and offering a piece to Larkin.
Larkin stuck the bacon in his mouth as soon as it was given to him, wagging his tail weakly with satisfaction. "Mmm… thanks, love…" He mumbled.
"You're welcome, sweetie." Samul picked up the plate of bacon, bringing Larkin to the couch. He continued to offer small pieces of bacon, keeping his boyfriend close.
Larkin ate the little bits of bacon whenever it was offered to him, huddling very close to Samul. He just closed his eyes and allowed the other to feed him.
Samul pulled the blanket he always had on the couch around them, something soft and fluffy to keep them warm. The man ran his fingers through Larkin's hair, feeding him until there was nothing left.
Larkin huddled up in Samul's arms when the bacon was gone, seeming a little more relaxed and comfortable than before. He was at least temporarily distracted from his troubles, which was good.
It was good to see Larkin calmer now. Samul kissed the werewolf's head, humming softly.
"How you feeling?" the man asked softly.
"I'm okay… less hungry, anyway." Larkin nuzzled against Samul affectionately and sighed softly. "I love you…"
"I love you too, Larkin." Samul pulled the blanket more securely around them both, nuzzling against Larkin in turn.
"Do we have to do anything today?" Larkin asked softly. "I kinda just wanna stay here… don't wanna go outside…"
"We don'y have anything," Samul said. Okay, a bit of a lie, but Samul was taking the day off and he'd get notes from his friends in class.
"Mmkay, cool… I just… I don't feel comfortable going outside yet…" Larkin sighed softly. "I'm scared he'll find us again."
Samul nodded some. He was afraid of that too. He couldn't… couldn't let Larkin go through that again. The man kissed Larkin's head lightly, holding him close.
"We don't have to go outside until you're ready," he promised.
Larkin nodded a bit and huddled up a bit more, closing his eyes. "B-But I gotta go back to school at some point… I can't hide here forever unless they let me do stuff online."
"I'm sure your teachers would if we talked to them," Samul assured Larkin. "I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure, too." The man rested his head on Samul's, rubbing his boyfriend's back.
"Thanks, Samul…" Larkin sighed shakily. "I'd like to stay here as long as possible… I just… I gotta work as well, s-so I can't stay forever…"
"I can handle the money-making," Samul said softly. He could try to take on yet another job, take up doing tasks no one else wanted to, odd jobs that paid enough.
"But I don't want you to have to overwork yourself just because I'm a wuss, love… you're already so busy." Larkin sighed.
"You're not a wuss," Samul insisted softly. "Besides, I can find the time. I want to take care of you, in any way I can." Samul could handle it. At least, that's what he told himself.
"B-But… Samul…" Larkin whimpered. "I should be working too. M-Maybe I can find something I can do online, I dunno, I just… I don't want you to stress yourself so much for my sake."
"I can do this, Larkin," Samul said softly, kissing Larkin's head. "Please, I want to do this. I don't need you stressing yourself, either."
Larkin tucked his head under Samul's chin and sighed. "But I don't want to have to put you through that, love… especially not for my sake."
"It would be worth it for me, Larkin," Samul assured quietly. "I want to keep you safe, and I don't know that it'll be so safe for you to work anymore…"
"I-I know, but I just… surely I can find some way to work from home or something? You shouldn't have to overwork yourself, Samul…"
"I'll make sure I'm not," Samul promised softly. "We can find a way to make this work, I promise."
Larkin sighed, still not seeming quite convinced. "O-Okay, but we'll have to talk about it more, okay?"
"Okay, then." Samul pulled Larkin closer, rubbing the man's back gently and kissing his head.
"I love you."
"I love you too…" Larkin murmured softly. "Can we talk about something else now? I don't like thinking about this stuff…"
