Jade glanced up for a moment before quickly kissing Killian’s cheek in return.
Jade glanced up for a moment before quickly kissing Killian’s cheek in return.
Killian smiled softly at her.
Jade smiled softly back.
He finished up the food on his plate, setting his silverware down.
Jade hummed a little as she finished her plate. “Thank you for dinner, Alex. It was very good.” she said gratefully.
Alex smiled a little. "You're welcome." He replied.
“Would it be alright if I asked a personal question?” she asked a little shyly. “It’s just something I've been wondering about, nothing serious. Max, you can object to it anytime since it's not really any of my business.” she said starting to ramble a little.
Max cocked his head faintly. "You're welcome to ask the question, I don't mind. I'll answer most things."
Jade smiled a little, relieved that Alex didn't seem to mind. “Well, I was just wondering, how you two met.” she told the couple.
Max smiled a little bit. "It's…kind of interesting, actually."
"I was giving evidence against his client." Alex said with a laugh. "And then we ran into each other at a bar a few weeks later, hit it off, one thing led to another…" He shrugged a shoulder, smiling a little.
Jade chuckled a little, not too surprised that they had met on a case. But the fact that they had been working on opposite sides was interesting. “That’s actually pretty cute.”
Max nodded a little. "Mhm! It's great." He agreed. "Little awkward at first, because of the case, but…" He shrugged a shoulder.
"Understandable." Jade smiled, glancing briefly at Kllian. "It's bound to be… something of adventure spending time with someone who has a different perspective. But it looks like it worked out. You two seem really happy together." she added sincerly.
Killian smiled softly back at her. Max nodded again. "Oh yeah, it worked out great." He agreed.
Jade reached under the table and held Killian's hand. "I'm glad I got to meet you guys."
Max smiled again. "Yeah, it was nice to meet you too." He agreed.
Jade smiled back, though she was unsure what else to say next.
Alex smiled lightly, kissing Max's cheek.
Jade squeezed Killian’s hand affectionately, not mind the couple's actions.
Killian rubbed his thumb over her knuckles gently.
Jade blushed faintly and kissed his cheek.
He smiled, and returned the kiss happily.
Jade’s blush darkened but she smiled softly back.
He smiled again, glancing over at Alex and Max for a moment.
Jade took a deep breath and followed Killian’s gaze towards the closest thing he had to a healthy family.
Alex and Max were talking quietly to each other, not really paying attention to Killian and Jade at the moment.
Jade was a little relieved that they hadn't noticed as it would be hard to explain their relationship. But she was also a little bit disappointed, though she wasn't completely sure why.
Alex got up, grabbing his and Max's plates. "Can I take your plates?" He asked Killian and Jade.
“Oh, sure. Thank you.” Jade smiled, handing her plate over. “Would you like any help?” she offered.
Killian handed his plate over with a faint smile. "Thanks, Alex."
Alex took the plates. "No problem, guys." He replied, smiling. "And no, I've got it."
