Melissa nodded a little, taking it from him. “Thanks…” She mumbled as she began to eat. “M’pretty tired… would you care if I took a shower and went to bed?”

"Go ahead, Mel. Do you wanna sleep in your room or in the blanket fort?" Lucas asked.

"Um, I dunno… would you cuddle up with me, in the fort?" Melissa asked softly, fiddling with her hair. "You don't have to, if you want to sleep in your own bed."

"Yeah, we can cuddle up in the fort if you want to." Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek. "I'm happy to do that."

Melissa smiled weakly, continuing to eat the sandwich. "Thanks, love…" She hummed, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Of course. You can go shower and get ready and I'll be waiting for you in the fort, okay?"

Melissa nodded a little, letting out a soft sigh. "Thanks… I love you so much." She mumbled, nuzzling up against him before getting up.

"Love you too, Mel…" Lucas returned the nuzzles and headed to the blanket fort to wait.

"I'll be down in a bit… I have to brush my teeth and stuff, too." Melissa mumbled, before heading up the stairs.

"Alrighty." Lucas huddled up in the blanket fort and settled down, getting himself comfortable.

A little over forty five minutes later, Melissa came down stairs. Her fuzzy socked feet padded on the wooden floor as she approached the fort, ducking under it. "Hey… you still awake?" She asked softly.

"Mmmm… barely…" Lucas mumbled sleepily, curled up under some blankets. "Ready to sleep?"

Melissa nodded, laying on the floor besides him. "Mm… thank you for loving me…" She whispered, resting her head on his chest.

"Thanks for loving me…" Lucas murmured, wrapping Melissa up in his arms and hugging her tightly.

Melissa curled up against him even more, letting out a soft sigh. “Of course, darling…” She whispered in return.

Lucas closed his eyes and yawned, relaxing with Melissa. "G'night, love… see you in the mornin'…"

“Yeah… see you in the morning…” Melissa mumbled, nodding off in his arms. “Love you…”

"Love you too…" Lucas soon drifted off to sleep as well, warm and comfortable with Melissa.

As the night turned to morning, Melissa slept peacefully with Lucas. Eventually she woke up, well rested after the frustrating day before. “Mm… Lu?”

"Mmm…" Lucas stirred a bit at Melissa's voice and glanced at her sleepily. "What…?"

“Mm… we should probably get up…” Melissa whispered, kissing his shoulder softly. “Or at least wake up.”

"Nooooo…" Lucas whined. "I'm comfy… and tired…" He mumbled tiredly. "Wanna stay here with youuuu…"

“We don’t have to get up… we can cuddle for a while, we just need to wake up…”

"Mmmm…" Lucas yawned a bit and held tighter to Melissa, tangling himself up with her.

Melissa smiled softly, looking up at him. She gently started running her fingers through his hair. “Mmm… I love you~”

"Love you too, Mel…" Lucas mumbled, relaxing into Melissa's gentle touch. "So much…"

“Mm… I love you more…” Melissa hummed, nuzzling up against him. As she continued to play with his hair, she curled up even closer.

"Doubt it…" Lucas smiled gently and closed his eyes, seeming to be content and comfortable.

“Mm… why’s that?”Melissa asked softly, looking up at him with a little smile.

"Because there's no way anyone could love anyone or anything more than I love you, Mel…"
