Arien smiled, chuckling some.
"Well, then, I think it might be a good idea to head to bed then." Arien had been awake for too long, and he knew Rafael wasn't used to staying up all night.
Arien smiled, chuckling some.
"Well, then, I think it might be a good idea to head to bed then." Arien had been awake for too long, and he knew Rafael wasn't used to staying up all night.
“Noooo I’m fine!” He protested, in reality just not wanting to leave Arien. But of course he wouldn’t say that.
"Rafael, I can't carry you really well carry you right now, and you yourself said you are close to passing out." Arien sighed a bit, still snuggled close to the man.
“Well I don’t have to go anywhere. We can both just stay here.” He pointed out. “Unless you actually have things you’re planning on doing today, in which case you’re free to go.”
"Oh, I completely plan on resting the entirety of the day away, I'll figure something out to do tonight." Arien let out a soft sigh. He laid down, pulling Rafael with him. He smiled softly.
He smiled happily, glad that it actually hadn’t taken too much to convince Arien to let him stay. He liked the time they spent like this, curled up in each other’s arms. He sighed contently, burying his head in Arien’s chest.
Arien rested his head on Rafael's, smiling again. He had his bandaged hand above their heads, arm under Rafael's head.
"You know, this is the most time I've spent with anyone in many years," he said softly. "I'm glad I get to do this with you, though."
“Is it really? Keep saying things like that and you’ll make me think I’m actually someone special in your life or something like that.” He chuckled softly, trying not to get his hopes up.
Arien smiled, blushing.
"And? What if you are? Is it such a bad thing..?" He had his other arm wrapped around Rafael, pulling him a bit closer.
“I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. I just didn’t know if you actually thought of me like that.” He replied quietly, knowing that there was most definitely a blush forming on his face, he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks.
Arien buried his head in Rafael's hair, still smiling.
"Well, I do…" He was blushing deeply, still holding Rafael close.
“Arien?” He asked, his tone not exactly becoming hostile, but just more distant. “What exactly am I to you?” He didn’t want to let himself believe that this was something more than what it really was.
(I hate to interrupt an ongoing story like this I'm so sorry but the title says open and the prompts were too chaotic good for me to not at least ask. So, is this still open or do I just look stupid now?)
(aaaa, so it is technically closed, sorry, but I am totally up for an rp with you in another thread/pm if you want!)
Arien hesitated a moment. How was he supposed to answer that question..? He lifted his hand up to cup Rafael's cheek.
"I… I'm not entirely sure," he admitted softly, rubbing his thumb over the human's cheek.
"But I do know you're one of the most important people in my life…"
(Ahh, I was afraid you'd say that! But making a different thread with you would be lovely!)
(great! tag me?)
(Will do!)
He pulled away from Arien’s touch. “Arien. I don’t have the time or the strength to let you just mess around with me.” He said seriously. Because he didn’t, and it had happened too many times before, when he’d been used and then left behind.
Arien shrunk back a bit at that.
"A-ah… I'm s-sorry," he said softly. He really didn't mean it like that, but… it still hurt.
He shook his head lightly. “It’s fine…I’m probably just overreacting anyway but…” he sighed. “I don’t want to hurt you, but I can’t let myself get hurt either in the process, does that make sense?” And this is why he had to be tough, and maybe a little bit cold. Because as soon as he’d heard the hurt in Arien’s voice, he wanted to do whatever it would take to make him feel better, no matter the cost.
"I… yeah, it does. I understand." Arien fell silent, looking away from Rafael. He'd actually tried to open up to Rafael, but he didn't know how to fully react to this, how to take it. Rafael said he didn't want to hurt Arien, but if he was being honest with himself, this really had hurt. He didn't have the words to describe his feelings for Rafael, so he understood why Rafael had reacted the way he had.
“I-I’m sorry..” He said softly, only now realizing how much he’d messed everything up. He should know better than to just assume that Arien was a bad guy because of the way he acted once. ‘Jesus Christ I’m such an idiot!’ He thought angrily to himself.
"I-It's- It's fine, really…" Arien was still a bit withdrawn now- he'd just admitted how important Rafael was to him, and… well, it felt like Rafael had just crushed any hopes he had for maybe going farther than this… H-he knew he'd been horrible to Rafael when he first brought him here, though. He understood he was a monster.
He could feel the difference between them now, and it felt like someone had suddenly dropped an anvil on his head. He wanted to scream. He’d ruined it. For once, the universe had given him something with the potential of being good and he’d ruined it. He’d reacted impulsively at hearing words from Arien that cheating lovers had said before. ‘So stupid…’ Why couldn’t Rafael have just kept his mouth shut, and seen that Arien was opening up to him, not deceiving him.
Arien should have known better- no one like him could ever find real love. He was just- just too different. He slowly pulled his arm from around Rafael, not wanting the other to feel like he was pushing too much. He held it close to himself instead, closing his eyes. He wanted to cry, but he didn't want to make Rafael feel guilty- the human hadn't done anything wrong…
“A-Arien?” He stammered out, on the verge of crying himself. “Please don’t leave, I didn’t mean it, I’m sorry. I-I wasn’t thinking.” He said quickly. He meant every word of it too.
((haha totally not gonna cry over this, totally))
"I-I…" Arien hesitantly reached his hand back out, lightly touching Rafael's. He didn't know what to think anymore, he really didn't.
"I won't leave…" And he wouldn't- even if Rafael dragged his heart through hell and back, he wouldn't leave. He was terrified Rafael would do this, over and over, hurt him and apologize, hurt him and apologize, but he didn't have the strength to do anything about it…
“I didn’t mean it I’m so sorry.” He said, unable to help the tears now.
(Oh i've been crying over this for a half hour now. Damnit I'm supposed do be doing homework–)
