"Mm…" Lucas sighed shakily, still quivering a bit. "Y-Yeah, you're probably right…"
"Mm…" Lucas sighed shakily, still quivering a bit. "Y-Yeah, you're probably right…"
“You’re definitely starting to get stressed out.” Melissa mumbled, getting up. Getting him some water, she told Cody to go get his meds. “Here.”
"Thanks, Mel…" Lucas accepted the water and the pills and swallowed them as well as he could.
Melissa was rubbing his shoulders in attempt to soothe him, hugging him loosely. She rested her chin on the top of his head with a soft sigh. “Of course, love…”
"I wish I didn't have to rely on these pulls just to function…" Lucas sighed softly.
“Maybe you won’t have to, one day… maybe things will start to get better…” Melissa whispered, burying her face in his shoulder.
"I hope so…" Lucas sighed and huddled close to Melissa for a few seconds. "It would definitely be nice."
“I’m sure you’ll be able to get out of having to take them…” Melissa whispered, holding onto him. Sighing weakly, she reluctantly started pulling away.
"Yeah… might be a while. I think I've got an appointment with my therapists this week, so hopefully that'll help."
"Really? I'm pretty sure I had one this week… then again, I think dad cancelled it, because of trying to find a new one…" Melissa mumbled, sitting down besides him. "But yeah, it should probably help."
"Yeah, mine are different than yours though… I've got a normal therapist for my bad brain, and a physical therapist for my bad wrist." Lucas laughed weakly.
Melissa rolled her eyes a little, laughing just a little. "I know, I was just stating my mind." She mumbled, pulling her knees up to her chest as she sat there. "How is your arm, by the way?"
Lucas shrugged a bit as he looked down at his forearm. "U-Um… it's… it's still pretty stiff, to be honest, but I think I'm making some progress… hopefully…"
Melissa nodded, resting her chin on the top of her knees. "It doesn't hurt, does it? You could probably take some Ibuprofen." She mumbled a little.
"It hurts sometimes, but mostly just when I try to move it too much… it's not that big a deal." Lucas shrugged a bit.
Melissa looked over at him, sighing weakly. "Lu…" She sighed softly, pinching her nose.
"What?" Lucas looked over at Melissa, confused. "It's really not all that bad…"
"You promise? I don't want you downplaying it, and getting hurt…" Melissa whispered, holding onto herself tightly.
"I really don't think it's that bad… I mean, sometimes my hand will like, cramp up for a few minutes and it hurts and I can't use it, and sometimes I get stabbing pains if I extend my hand, but… it's not that bad."
"Lucas- that… that sounds bad." Melissa insisted, looking up at him. "I really don't want you to downplay this… if it hurts, I want you to tell me…"
"Alright, alright…" Lucas sighed. "I just figured that it was normal."
Melissa sighed, tucking her hair out of her face. "Nothing about you is exactly normal…" She pointed out.
Lucas laughed weakly. "Yeah… I guess you're right. I just figured that, considering the circumstances, a little pain and stiffness were to be expected."
"I mean, I guess. But still…" Melissa insisted as she glanced down at the floor. "I just… you're gonna try and play it off like it's nothing."
Lucas shrugged a bit. "I guess… I just… I'm pretty used to pain, so this isn't really all that bad in comparison…"
"I know it isn't, but it's still there." Melissa mumbled, sighing weakly. "I'm not upset with you, so don't feel bad, but I'm really wishing none of this had happened in the first place… I know you couldn't control yourself, but I just wish it hadn't happened…"
"I know… I'm sorry, Mel… really." Lucas sighed as well. "I honestly didn't mean to, I-I just… the meds were wrong and I'd just had the nightmares and it was just… a really bad combination."
"I know, babe. I just- I guess I'm saying if I was given the chance, I'd go back and stop you…" Melissa explained, shoulders sinking some. "I know you needed it, and it was best for you in the long run, but I really wish you hadn't had to go. It's selfish, and I'm being stupid. I just… it was hard without you here."
"Y-Yeah… I missed you too, Mel. I hated being locked up in that place. Believe me, I wish I could go back and stop myself more than anything, but I can't…"
Melissa stopped herself from commenting, realizing this might not be the best thing to talk about. Sucking in a deep breath, she nodded a little. "Yeah, we probably both would… but the past is in the past. There's not much we can do about it."
