"Love you, too." Melissa smiled softly, resting her head on his shoulder. "You're great…"
"Love you, too." Melissa smiled softly, resting her head on his shoulder. "You're great…"
((So, I saw this thing, and apparently Mel in Latin means honey/sweetness/sunshine/darling. And honestly that's just too cute not to share-))
(Aw)
Lucas smiled gently at Melissa as he led her along. "Glad you think so, darling."
Melissa nuzzled up against him with a soft hum. "I do think so~" She hummed, hugging his waist.
"Mmm… what do you wanna do when we get home, Mel?" Lucas asked softly.
"I dunno, but what we need to do is school…" Melissa mumbled, nosing against his cheek.
"Mmmmm… but I don't wannaaaa…" Lucas whined. "School's haaard…"
“I know, but you’ll regret it if you don’t do it.” Melissa insisted, kissing his cheek. “You can’t skip out on it…”
"I know, I know… I just wish I could've gotten the lessons so I would actually understand how to do this stuff…" Lucas sighed.
"Um… I could try to teach you? I… I should be able to remember how to do it." Melissa offered softly.
"Mm… maybe…" Lucas sighed. "I wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on you, though."
"It's fine, Lucas. It's not that bad." Melissa insisted, looking up at him. "I'd just feel bad if I messed something up."
Lucas smiled weakly. "I'm just worried that I'm too dumb to do it anyway. I doubt it would be your doing at all."
"Lucas, you're not dumb. You're actually pretty smart in my opinion." Melissa insisted, looking up at him. "I'm sure it could be partially my fault. I'm not the best at explaining things, and I'm worried I'd just make things worse. Or forget something."
"Well, I feel pretty dumb, all things considered…" Lucas sighed. "I've done some really stupid stuff these past couple of months."
"Mm… I feel like there's a difference between school smart and life smart." Melissa mumbled, leading him up to her house. "It's two completely different things."
"Mm… I guess, but I'm pretty dumb with both." Lucas laughed weakly.
"No you're not, Lu…" Melissa insisted, pulling him up to the door. "You're smart, and I know it."
"Agree to disagree, then?" Lucas offered Melissa a weak smile as he followed her inside.
Melissa sighed weakly, holding onto his hand tightly. "I'd really rather not… but if you're not going to budge, then I guess so."
Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and led her into the kitchen so he could start on his homework.
"Mm… I love you." Melissa mumbled, hugging him when he had sat down. "You're gonna be just fine."
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas sighed as he pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling down answers.
Melissa kissed the top of his head, hugging him for a couple seconds more before pulling away. "We'll make sure to take your meds on time today." She mumbled, playing with his hair as he worked.
"Yeah… definitely." He leaned into Melissa's hand as he wrote down answers, seeming pretty tired.
Melissa gently played with his hair still, kissing his cheek. "I love you…" She mumbled again, scooting closer.
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas returned the kiss and returned to his work, falling silent as he did so.
Melissa kept her head on his should, stay curled up against him. She gently rubbed circles into his back, keeping quiet for the time being. "Just let me know if you need help…"
"Mhmm…" Lucas managed to get a few assignments done, but he was tapping one foot on the ground and generally seemed pretty uneasy.
After a little bit, Melissa looked up at the clock. "I think it's about time you took your meds…" She stated softly, rubbing his shoulders.
