She grabbed her helmet and followed his example. “Soph! We're going out for a while. I’ll text when we head back.” she called out before she closed the door behind her.
She grabbed her helmet and followed his example. “Soph! We're going out for a while. I’ll text when we head back.” she called out before she closed the door behind her.
He headed out to Sparky.
She quickly caught up to Killian and headed towards the stairs out of habit.
He followed her quietly.
She smiled a little at him as she lead him to her trusted bike.
He fidgeted just a little.
“Are you alright?” she asked softly.
"Yeah. I'm fine." he replied.
“Ok.” she nodded, accepting his answer as they exited the building with Sparky sitting in the parking lot.
"Am I driving or are you driving?"
“Hmmm… you can. If you want.” she offered, hoping that it would cheer him up a little more.
He smiled a little. "Sure."
She chuckled softly and kissed his cheek before disarming Sparky's security then handing the keys to Killian.
He took the keys, sitting down on the bike and putting the keys in. "Hey, Sparky?"
”Hello, Killian.” Sparky chirped. ”How are you?”
"Good, can you set the GPS for this address?" he rattled off his cousin's address.
”Of course I can.” the A.I. replied almost smugly. ”Meeting someone special there?”
"My cousin." he replied, raising his eyebrows faintly.
”Oh? Taking Jade to meet the family?” Sparky teased.
“Sparky, shut up.” Jade hissed, blushing at the insinuation.
"No, Sparky." he replied tiredly.
If Sparky were using his holographic form, he would have a brow raised at the two reactions. ”Alright…” he said, confused and concerned but willing to drop the conversation.
"My mom…disappeared and my cousin thinks he knows…where her body might be." he explained after a moment.
Sparky’s whole frame suddenly appeared much more rigid at the news. ”Oh… I… I’m sorry. I… I didn't… Ah, crap. I assume this is what it's like to have your foot in your mouth.”
“Yeah. That's pretty close.” Jade nodded, a little surprised that Killian had mentioned the situation. Though she supposed it was better than if she had brought it up.
He laughed faintly. "Yes, now you understand."
”Again, I apologize. I suppose I still need work on… how I handle interactions. Especially of that nature.” Sparky said softly in a defeated tone.
"Yes, you do, but it's alright."
“We’ll work on that.” Jade promised softly, reaching to hold Killian’s hand for a moment.
Killian smiled faintly at her, holding her hand.
Jade smiled softly back and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. “Ready?”
He nodded. "Yeah."
