"I'd be more worried it would try to chase him." Melissa laughed softly, kissing his cheek. "But I'm sure it would be fine. If we ever really wanted to try sometime."
"I'd be more worried it would try to chase him." Melissa laughed softly, kissing his cheek. "But I'm sure it would be fine. If we ever really wanted to try sometime."
"Yeah… he can be kind of a wuss sometimes." Lucas laughed weakly. "But yeah…"
Melissa sighed softly, nuzzling against him some. "Mm… do you want a cat now, too?" She asked softly.
"Mm… maybe a while after we move in together. Not like… right now. Unless you want a cat?"
Melissa shrugged, snuggling up against him a little more. "We've got enough to deal with, without another pet. I think I'm okay right now. But like you said, maybe later on."
"Mhmm." Lucas nodded in agreement and kissed Melissa again. "Sounds good to me. What would you name a cat if you had one?"
"Well, I guess it depends what kind of cat we got." Melissa hummed softly, looking up at the ceiling in thought. "I really don't know what I'd name one, mostly until we got it. I don't think I could make up my mind right now."
((I can only imagine Melissa finding a kitty now, and bringing it home because she liked it,,,))
(Yesss)
Lucas nodded a bit. "Yeah… that makes sense. It would have to depend on its personality too, don't you think?"
((She could find it outside the restaurant she works at,,,))
"Mhmm, definitely." Melissa nodded as well, glancing over to him. "I mean if it's a sweet kitty, pumpkin, or something cutesy would make sense."
Lucas nodded again. "Mhmm. Especially if it's a ginger cat…" He rested his head on Melissa's shoulder.
Melissa smiled softly, kissing his nose. "Exactly. It really all depends on what kind of cat we got." She hummed, resting her head against him.
Lucas nodded a bit and hummed softly to himself. "Yeah… we never had a cat when Claus and I were growing up."
"Did he not like cats?" Melissa asked softly, glancing over to him. "Or was it just because of your dog?"
"Eh, probably mostly our dog… he didn't like cats." Lucas shrugged. "And my parents just preferred dogs."
"Mm, that's fair…" Melissa nodded, folding both her hands to rest on her stomach. "I never actually had a pet growing up… I mean, Gabe brought a frog home one day… but when it got loose in the house, mom didn't let him keep it."
"Mm. Fair." Lucas yawned a bit and closed his eyes, humming again. "Pretty sure I had a plush cat, but never a real one."
"Did you name it?" Melissa asked softly, smiling a little. "Or was it just kitty?"
"Mm… pretty sure its name was Muffin or something." Lucas shrugged a bit. "But Claus called it something else. Probably after some sports guy he saw on TV."
“Mm, that’s Claus for you.” Melissa laughed softly, leaning over to kiss his cheek. “Now I feel the need to name a kitty muffin. Just because of that.”
Lucas snickered a bit. "You can name kitties whatever you like, darling. You don't have to name them after my childhood toys."
“But it’s cute,” Melissa insisted, burying her face in his shoulder. “I don’t think I’d actually name it that, but it would be funny.”
"Mm…" Lucas nuzzled against Melissa a bit and sighed. "Yeah. It's a decent enough cat name, I guess."
Melissa hesitated before pulling back, giving him a concerned look. “Decent enough..? Are… are you alright? You sound off.”
"Yeah? I'm fine, why?" Lucas asked softly, looking a bit confused. "Did I do something wrong?"
“I- no… you just- I dunno, the way you said it sounded odd to me.” Melissa shrugged, kissing his forehead. “I just wanted to make sure you were alright…”
"Oh, sorry… I'm probably just tired." Lucas returned the kiss and huddled closer to Melissa.
“Lucas… I- you know you can tell me if something’s wrong, right?” Melissa asked softly, running her fingers through his hair.
"I know, Mel. I'm alright." Lucas hummed softly to himself as he leaned into Melissa's hand.
Melissa sighed softly, kissing his forehead. “Alright… I- alright…” She whispered, burying her face in his shoulder.
Lucas smiled weakly down at Melissa and kissed the top of her head. "I love you."
