"I know, love… it's gonna be okay." Rowan picked up Timmy and held him close to himself.
"I know, love… it's gonna be okay." Rowan picked up Timmy and held him close to himself.
Timmy held tightly to Rowan's hand, whimpering again softly.
"Oh, baby," Matthew said softly.
"I know, love… it's okay…" Rowan gently kissed the top of Timmy's head and held him close. "We'll be back so soon."
Timmy leaned into Rowan's kiss, looking up at him with wide, teary eyes. He didn't want to be left with someone else. He wanted to go with them.
"Don't cry, baby… you'll be okay, I promise." Rowan sighed shakily as he looked down at Timmy. "It'll be such a short time. You can take care of your brother and sister for me, right?"
Matthew wrapped his arms around Rowan a bit better, holding the man close. He reached up, gently cupping Rowan's hands in his own. Timmy looked up at both of them, sniffling a bit and slowly nodding.
"Good boy… I promise that we'll be back so soon, and we're not even leaving until tomorrow! We just gotta get my things and my mama. You'll get to meet her when she gets here!"
Timmy wiped at his eyes a bit, seeming to calm down when he heard they weren't leaving soon.
"M-mama..?" he echoed. Matthew's eyes widened a bit, and he grinned brightly.
"Yeah!" Rowan smiled brightly and kissed Timmy's head again, holding the chick close. "You're gonna meet my mama. She's real nice, I promise."
Timmy smiled at the kiss faintly, leaning into Rowan and slowly letting go of his finger to sit down. He was still really clinging, of course…
"I'm sure she'll like you too. Are you excited to meet her?" Rowan asked softly, still smiling.
Timmy thought a moment, then nodded his head.
"I think we all are," Matthew said, smiling.
Rowan nuzzled against Matthew's cheek affectionately, humming a bit to himself. "I hope she'll wanna come…"
"I'm sure she will, when she sees how important it is to you." Matthew leaned his cheek against Rowan, smiling softly.
"Yeah…" Rowan huddled closer to Matthew, humming happily to himself. "I think she'd like it here."
"Yeah…" Matthew smiled when Rowan moved closer, relaxing into the chair.
"Less wars and fighting and stuff… and everyone's really nice." Rowan smiled gently.
Matthew nodded.
"Yes…" He smiled softly.
"You especially seem to be nice… but I haven't really met anybody else, so I dunno, I guess."
"Well, everyone I've met so far in my life has been really nice, too." Matthew let out a soft hum, grinning.
"That's good… I don't like it when people yell at me or anything." Rowan yawned a bit and huddled closer.
"I see…" Matthew laid back in the seat, wings going around them again.
"Perhaps it's time to get ready for bed?" he offered.
"Probably, yeah… I'm exhausted. It's been a long day." Rowan closed his eyes and yawned again as he cuddled up with Matthew.
Matthew lightly rubbed Rowan's back, picking him up bridal style to carry him to the nest bed.
"Mm~…" Rowan huddled up in Matthew's arms contentedly. "G'night… are you gonna sleep too?" He asked.
"Yes, I am. Good night, Rowan…" Matthew smiling softly. He rested his head on Rowan, the nest tucked safely away were the chicks couldn't get hurt.
"Mmkay…" Rowan tucked himself under Matthew's chin and soon drifted off to sleep in the other's arms.
Matthew stayed up a bit longer than Rowan, making sure everyone else was settled down for the night. Eventually he did too, arms securely around his family.
Rowan was still asleep in the morning when Matthew awoke, as per usual. He tended to sleep in without an alarm set. He yawned a bit and huddled closer, his face buried in the other's chest.
Matthew awoke early, as usual. He looked down at Rowan, smiling a bit.
"Rowan," he said gently. "It's time to wake up."
