Yawning a little, Melissa kissed his shoulder before pulling back. "Mm… am I bothering you?"
Yawning a little, Melissa kissed his shoulder before pulling back. "Mm… am I bothering you?"
Lucas shook his head a bit. "No, m'fine, Mel…" He insisted.
"You sure?" Melissa asked softly, kissing his forehead. "I don't wanna make you uncomfortable."
"Mhmm… I'm sure…" Lucas yawned again. "I should probably go make food soon, though."
"But I want you to staaaayyy~" Melissa whined, holding onto him a little tighter.
"I knooooow… but I caaaaan't~" Lucas whined in reply. "Gotta make us some food, love."
"Why do humans have to eat?" Melissa huffed, burying her face in his chest. "It's ridiculous. We should just be able to live without having to constantly take care of ourselves."
"I know, Mel… everybody has to eat, though. Not just people." Lucas gently kissed the top of Melissa's head.
Melissa sighed weakly, curling up in his arms. "It's just another thing to do, though…" She mumbled.
"Mhmm. But hey, at least food tastes good most of the time. It can be enjoyable to eat, especially if you do it with friends or family."
"I guess so…" Melissa sighed softly, resting her head against his shoulder. "I just… never mind. I don't even know what I'm trying to say."
"Mhmm… should I go make lunch now then?" Lucas asked.
"Probably…." Melissa mumbled, burying her face in his shoulder again. "Do you mind?"
"Course not. I'll be back soon." Lucas got up and headed into the kitchen to start making food.
"Thank you…" She whispered as he got up to go to the kitchen. Melissa curled up on the couch, sighing softly.
Lucas came back in a few minutes to cuddle up with Melissa again. "Chicken nuggets are in the oven, darling. Sorry I'm not the best cook." He laughed softly.
Melissa glanced up at him, scooting over when he came back. "It's fine, Lu. Don't worry about it." She insisted, forcing up a smile.
"Mmm…" Lucas hugged Melissa tightly and kissed her a few times. "It'll be a few minutes til they're done."
“Yeah, I figured…” Melissa mumbled, running her fingers through his hair. “I- um… can you just talk to me? I- I kind of need a distraction.”
"Sure… anything you wanna talk about in particular?" Lucas asked softly, wondering what had upset her.
“No… I- I just… something that distracts me.” She mumbled, burying her face in his shoulder. “I- like when we were out. I- I felt fine when I was distracted.”
Lucas nodded a bit. "Uhm… did… did you get anything nice for Christmas?" He asked softly.
Melissa nodded a little, trying to think back to Christmas. “I- um… I really liked your drawing.” She mumbled, tracing letters into his chest.
Lucas smiled gently down at Melissa. "Glad you liked it… I wish I could've gotten you something nicer, but I wasn't exactly allowed to go shopping." He laughed softly.
“Hey, it’s perfectly fine. I don’t need anything, and didn’t expect anything actually. It was a nice surprise to get the drawing, honestly.” Melissa hummed, fiddling with a strand of her hair.
"Mm… I'm glad I could get you something more for your birthday, at least. In addition to another drawing of course."
“Mhmm, thank you, love…” She whispered, seeming to steadily relax. “I- I haven’t looked at it yet. I’ll need to do that later…”
"Mhmm…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly and held her close. "I hope you like it."
“I’m sure I will. I love your drawings.” Melissa hummed softly, smiling sweetly. “I love knowing you spent time on something, specifically for me.”
Lucas flushed a bit and looked away shyly. "It's no trouble, Mel… I like making things for you."
