“I know… but I want to cuddle with you. And I really shouldn’t sleep.” Melissa mumbled, resting her chin on his shoulder.

"If you're tired, you should sleep, Mel. Maybe Cody will cuddle with you." Lucas shrugged a bit.

“I love Cody but it’s not the same…” Melissa sighed softly. “I really want to be with you. But I have to get ready for work anyways.”

"Yeah…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and held her closer as they approached the house.

Melissa stayed close to him, lacing her fingers with his. “I love you…”

"I love you too, Mel." Lucas smiled gently and opened the door so he could lead Melissa inside.

Melissa smiled softly, slowly pulling away from him. “I’ll go get ready for work.” She mumbled.

"Alrighty, Mel. See you soon." Lucas headed over to the table to start his homework back up again.

When Melissa came back down the stairs and into the kitchen, she seemed in a better mood to go to work than she had yesterday. Humming softly, she came up and hugged him from behind. “How’s the world going?”

"Mmm… it's going." Lucas smiled gently up at Melissa. "You heading off to work, darling?" He asked.

"Not quite yet. I still have a little bit of time." Melissa hummed, kissing his cheek. "Can I help with your work?"

"Mm… I've already got your notes, so there's probably not a ton else you can help with, to be honest." Lucas shrugged.

Melissa nodded a little, keeping a loose hold on him. “Right… well, I love you.” She stated softly, playing with his hair.

"I love you too, Mel." Lucas kept scribbling down answers with a soft sigh, leaning into Melissa's hand a bit while he worked.

Melissa was doing her best to me gentle with him, resting her chin on the top of his head. “You gonna be okay while I’m at work? I know you’re practically an adult, but still.”

"Yeah, I'll be fine. And your dad's here in case I need anything." Lucas smiled gently up at Melissa. "I'll be fine."

“I just wanted to check. I didn’t want to leave you if you needed something from me.” Melissa hummed softly, nuzzling against him before pulling back. “Oh, before I go, I asked dad about your therapist, and he said it was this Friday.”

"Ah, alright… thanks, Mel." Lucas smiled gently up at Melissa for a moment before returning to his work.

Melissa smiled softly, picking up her purse and keys. “I’m heading out. I’ll be back tonight.” She called as she pulled the door open. “I love you.”

"Love you too, Mel. See you later." Lucas waved for a moment before returning to writing down answers.

Melissa pulled up to the house, pushing the door open and heading up to the house. Pushing the front door open, she yawned and dropped her purse by the door before walking into the kitchen too look for Lucas. “You still up..?”

Lucas didn't reply, but he was still at the table. He seemed to be asleep with his head resting on the table. "Mmm…"

Melissa gave a weak smile, coming up besides him and starting to pet him. "Hey Lu…" She whispered, attempting to wake him up.

Lucas stirred a bit and looked up at Melissa drowsily. "Mmmm… g'mornin, Mel…" He mumbled.

Melissa gave him a tired smile, leaning down to kiss his cheek. “Morning, Love… even though it’s still nighttime. Are you really comfortable sleeping here?”

"Not really, no…" Lucas rubbed at his eyes tiredly and looked around. His hair was a fluffy mess, and he still only seemed to be about half awake.

Melissa laughed softly, still petting him gently. “Why didn’t you just go to bed if you were so tired? If you were waiting for me, you didn’t have to, love…”

"Well, I was doing work… and then I fell asleep. I don't really know what happened between then…" Lucas yawned a bit and leaned into Melissa's hand.
