“I’m not moving to Canada, Lu.” Melissa laughed softly, reaching across the table to hold his hand. “I promise, I won’t leave you here.”
“I’m not moving to Canada, Lu.” Melissa laughed softly, reaching across the table to hold his hand. “I promise, I won’t leave you here.”
"Thanks, Mel… I wouldn't do well without you." Lucas sighed softly in relief as he held onto Melissa's hand.
“You… you didn’t really think I was going, did you?” Melissa asked softly, lacing their fingers together.
"No, no, of course not… I'm just saying like, hypothetically. If you did, even though I know you're not."
“Mm, alright. It’s too cold to move there, anyways.” Melissa hummed, kissing his knuckles. “But, I mean, I might consider it only for the fact they’re stereotyped to be really nice.”
"Nooooo… you gotta stay here with me, Mel." Lucas whined, holding Melissa's hand more tightly.
“You can come with meeeee~” Melissa hummed, reaching for more funnel cake. “We can cuddle, to keep warm.”
"Mmmm… but I don't wanna go to Canada." Lucas kissed Melissa softly. "Maybe somewhere warmer, yeah?"
“But maple syrupppppp~” Melissa insisted, kissing him in return. “And Canada is warmer than Alaska, I think?”
"Why we gotta go up? Maybe we could go to like… I dunno… Brazil? Mexico? Uhh… Arizona or Florida maybe?"
“Mm… Arizona does have really pretty sunsets…” Melissa hummed softly, resting an arm on the table to rest her chin on it.
"Mhmm… and it's nice and warm there, even in the winter." Lucas smiled gently. "I get cold easy."
“Mm, same here… but I also heat up very easily. My body temperature is very delicate.” Melissa laughed weakly, smiling softly.
"Mm… I'm kinda just always cold." Lucas laughed softly. "But you're right…"
“Mmm,” Melissa hummed softly, giving him a little smile. “I guess I can get over a little heat, if it means you’ll be comfortable.” She hummed, tucking her hair back out of her face.
"Mm… I don't want you to get overheated though, love." Lucas nuzzled against Melissa affectionately.
"I'll be fine, Lu." Melissa smiled, holding onto his hand tightly. "Unless we find somewhere with perfect weather, we should probably move somewhere you're comfortable."
"But I want you to be comfortable too, Mel…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly and sighed.
"I'll be perfectly comfortable. I'm sure I can adjust," Melissa hummed softly, pulling his hand up to hold her face. "And it's not like we're moving right now. We're not even eighteen. We can't go anywhere, yet."
"Well, yeah… I probably just won't end up wanting to stick around here." Lucas laughed weakly. "Too many bad memories."
"The good ones aren't enough to keep you here?" Melissa asked softly, seeming genuine in her question.
"I… I dunno…" Lucas sighed. "I mean, I'd miss the clearing and the sunflower field, but everything else I'd be fine leaving behind…"
"I mean, I'd hope we come back on occasion. I'd like to come visit my dad," Melissa hummed softly, kissing his knuckles.
Lucas nodded a bit. "Yeah… your dad is great." He sighed softly.
Melissa smiled weakly, leaning across the table to kiss his lips. "Mm… what do we wanna go do when we finish this?"
"Anything is fine with me, darling. Anything you wanna do in particular?" He asked softly.
Melissa shook her head a little, glancing around the surrounding area. "Not really… I think there's some cool stuff further down on the boardwalk, though."
"Sounds good to me, Mel. Anything you wanna do is perfectly fine." Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek softly.
"Mm, you really don't mind?" Melissa asked softly, holding onto his hand still. She kept up a light smile.
"Of course not, Mel. It's your birthday! We gotta have lots of fun."
