“Probably… I’ll be gone tonight. You can probably do most of it then.” She mumbled, looking up at him. “Though you don’t have to. You can do other things too…”
“Probably… I’ll be gone tonight. You can probably do most of it then.” She mumbled, looking up at him. “Though you don’t have to. You can do other things too…”
"I know, Mel… I'll probably just do homework while you're gone. It needs to get done anyway." Lucas smiled gently.
“I feel bad that you have to do it…” Melissa mumbled, looking over to him.
"I know you do, Mel, but there isn't really anything either of us can do about it." Lucas sighed.
“I guess not…” Melissa mumbled with a slight shrug. “I’m sorry you have to…”
"I know you are, Mel, but you really don't have to worry so much about it. I'll be fine."
“You know I can’t just shut off my caring.” Melissa hummed, looking over to him. “I’m sorry if it bugs you…”
"I know you can't, Mel, but it'll be okay." Lucas shrugged a bit. "I'm gonna have to do it one way or another."
Melissa finished off her food, leaning over and resting her head on his shoulder. “M’still sorry…”
"I know, Mel… do you wanna go to the park now?" Lucas asked softly.
"Yeah… if you're ready." Melissa mumbled, slowly getting up from her seat. "You know where Cody is?"
"Uh…" Lucas whistled for Cody and the puppy came running. "Found him. I'm ready to head out if you are."
Melissa smiles softly, kneeling down to pet Cody. “Yeah, I’m ready. Come on Cody, let’s go to the park.”
Lucas clipped Cody's leash to his collar and took Melissa's hand as he headed out the door. "Let's get going, then."
Melissa smiles softly, holding onto his hand tightly. “Love you, darling…” She hummed, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
"Love you too, Mel…" Lucas murmured, returning the kiss as he led Melissa along. "How long do you want to stay at the park?"
“I dunno, we probably don’t have long, though.” Melissa shrugged, nuzzling up against him.
"True…" Lucas nuzzled against Melissa's cheek gently and smiled a bit. "We can stay for a bit, though."
“Maybe we could go to the playground or something…” Melissa mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Sure, if you want to, Mel." Lucas smiled gently and pulled Melissa close.
"I'd kind of like to… if you're okay with that." Melissa mumbled, nuzzling up even closer.
"Yeah, that's fine with me, Mel. I honestly don't mind." Lucas gently kissed Melissa and led her into the park.
"Mm, alright… we can go to the clearing first, though." Melissa hummed, holding on tightly. "Then on our way out, we can go to the playground…"
"Sounds like a plan." Lucas led Melissa through the trees until they made it to the clearing, smiling gently when he saw it.
Melissa held onto him tightly, nuzzling against him with a soft sigh. “I love this place…”
"Yeah, me too…" Lucas sighed happily as he looked around, squeezing Melissa's hand gently. "Almost as much as I love you."
Melissa smiled gently, nuzzling against him with a gentle smile. “And I love you too…” She grinned softly while giggling.
Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek and headed over to the willow tree to sit down, sighing softly in content.
Melissa curled up in his arms, looking up at him. “Mm… you’re really cute…”
Lucas flushed a bit and smiled sheepishly. "Glad you think so, Mel… you're not so bad yourself."
