"Mhmm! Tommy's still sleeping… you've been in there for ages, bud. Look around a bit!" Rowan laughed softly and held Timmy a bit closer to himself.
"Mhmm! Tommy's still sleeping… you've been in there for ages, bud. Look around a bit!" Rowan laughed softly and held Timmy a bit closer to himself.
Timmy nuzzled into Rowan, wings folding around Rowan's finger. Matthew gently nudged Tommy. The chick slowly woke up, sitting up and yawning. He blinked up at Rowan, probably having the largest and brightest eyes of the three chicks. Matthew smiled gently.
"I don't think Timmy will enjoy me holding him as much as me."
"Yeah… I think he likes me." Rowan smiled softly down at the chicks. "Morning, sunshine. You finally awake?" He held one finger out to Tommy.
Tommy sniffed a bit, shakily standing up to rest his head on Rowan's fingers. He yawned lightly.
"Aww," Matthew said gently.
"Wonder why he's so tired? Do you think he's sick or something?" Rowan asked nervously, moving his hand to support the chick better.
"He's not sick," Matthew promised gently. "He was smelling your scent. He must just be naturally tired. He is a baby, after all. They all react to hatching differently." He reached over, lightly running a finger on Tommy's head and back. The chick let out a soft trill, leaning into the rubbing.
"I guess so… I just wanna make sure they're all doing okay, you know?" He held Timmy close to himself and kept a close eye on Tammy.
Tammy was looking over the nest, having crawled to the top of it with a grin. Timmy nuzzled into Rowan, unlatching from his finger a moment in favor of climbing into Rowan's pocket. Matthew chuckled a bit at the chaos.
"Guess he's gonna chill in there. I guess that's easier than the nest." Rowan laughed softly. "How's Tommy doing?"
Matthew chuckled a bit as well. He looked down at the chick, who was blinking up at both of them. He had sat down, yawning a bit and making grabby hands. Matthew pulled out a grub, but the chick shook his head.
"Perhaps he wants something to cuddle with?" Matthew noted.
Rowan gently rubbed the chick's head again and held his finger down to him to hold onto. "Maybe… he does seem to be very cuddly. That's alright, though."
Tommy held onto Rowan's finger, yawning again and closing his eyes.
"I could make them soft toys to cuddle with," Matthew said, thinking a moment.
"Ooh, that would be good! I know I've still got some plushies in my apartment, so once I get back, I can get them for them. I think they'd like to cuddle with them…"
Matthew nodded a bit, smiling.
"Will they be small enough? Or will we give them you sized ones to cuddle and sleep with?" Matthew smiled gently.
"Mm… mine are all like, normal sized, you know? They're not huge or anything, but they're not teeny. They could cuddle up with an arm or something, maybe?"
"It sounds absolutely adorable," Matthew said, smiling. He carefully lifted Tommy back over to Rowan's hand.
"Now… I should hold Timmy now, but I'm not sure he wants me to."
"Yeah, he's pretty clingy… I'm not sure he'll let go out me." Rowan carefully tried to lift Timmy out of his pocket, but the chick whined in protest and held tighter to him.
Matthew chuckled lightly.
"Here, I'll just rub him lightly while he's holding onto you, how about that?" He smiled, staying close to Rowan.
"Sounds good to me." Rowan smiled softly, holding one hand against his pocket to comfort Timmy so that Matthew could pet him.
Matthew gently reached over, lightly petting Timmy. The chick moved closer to Rowan, not exactly not liking the affection, but not liking it either.
"You're okay, baby… Matthew's nice. He's not gonna hurt you." Rowan soothed Timmy softly, petting the chick's head again.
Timmy shifted a bit out of the pocket to stare up at Rowan. He didn't shrink away from either of them, but he obviously liked Rowan more.
"I think he's successfully been bonded to his papa," Matthew said with a soft chuckle.
"I'm glad~" Rowan purred softly. "I'll try my best to take care of them." He rubbed Timmy's head again and kept him close to himself.
Timmy snuggled into Rowan's body, humming in content. He looked up at Rowan with big green eyes.
"You'll be great at this, I just know it," Matthew said, smiling.
"However… We do need to get going. Shall we get them all settled in?" He picked Tammy off from on top of the nest, tucking her away inside.
"Yeah, we should… I might leave Timmy in my pocket, though. I don't think that he would try anything, and it seems like he wants to stay." Rowan hummed softly to himself.
"Okay! Just make sure to keep an eye on him to make sure he's safe." Matthew lifted the sleepy Tommy into the best, who curled up with his sister and effectively trapped her in the nest. Matthew chuckled at this.
"I will, Matthew. I'll keep a close eye on all of them." Rowan smiled gently and allowed Matthew to help him up onto the horse.
Matthew wrapped his arms around Rowan once they were on the horse, humming faintly. He had them set off, and he was humming a bit.
Rowan kept his eyes firmly on the chicks to make sure that they wouldn't try anything. "Do you think they'll be okay?"
"They'll be perfectly okay, especially with you as their papa." Matthew anime gently, resting his head on Rowan's shoulder and looking down at the chicks. Tammy was trying to get Tommy off of her, but the boy was stuck fast to her.
