Melissa shrugged in return. "I dunno. Different skill sets, I guess." She hummed, giving him a soft smile.

Lucas huffed a bit as he continued on, struggling to keep my balance. "I guess ice skating isn't exactly a survival skill or anything…"

"No, no it's not. It's meant to be fun." Melissa laughed some, pulling him along some.

"But it's hard…" Lucas whined, tensing up again when Melissa picked up the pace. "I feel like if I move at all I'm gonna fall."

"Why is falling such a big deal, though? Do you just not want to get hurt?" Melissa asked, feeling his grip on her hand tighten. She began to slow down to try to relax him.

"I honestly don't know… I guess I'm scared of getting hurt? Unintentionally getting hurt has caused some problems for me mentally in the past and I really don't wanna regress or anything, even though I've been taking my meds…"

Melissa nodded, very carefully pulling him along with her back to the exit. "Then ice skating probably wasn't a great idea, huh?" She asked lightly, still slowly pulling him along. "If you're nervous about that, we can always go do something else. I don't mind."

"No, n-no, I… I wanna try to do this. I'm probably just being paranoid, honestly… I doubt it would bother me that much to fall when I've been on my meds, I just… I dunno…" Lucas sighed.

Melissa stopped pulling him along, giving him a weak smile. "Alright, if you're sure… I just want you to feel comfortable." She sighed softly, loosely holding onto his hand.

"I'll be okay, Mel…" Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek and tightened his grip on her hand as he slowly moved along.

"Alright, alright…" Melissa smiled a little softer as they moved along the ice. She was mostly letting him lead, so she wouldn't push him if he wasn't ready.

Lucas tried to pick up the pace a bit once he was a little more comfortable on the ice, but he still liked uneasy. "Am I doing it?"

"I'd say so, yeah." Melissa nodded, giving him a little smile. "Maybe not perfectly, but neither am I."

Lucas smiled weakly as he continued. "Definitely weird to have blades on my feet…"

Melissa laughed some, leaning over just a little to kiss his cheek. "Mm, it is, isn't it?"

Lucas nodded a bit and moved forward a bit more. "You'd think I'd be better at this, but apparently not."

"Not that I'm doubting you, but is there a specific reason behind your statement?" Melissa hummed, holding on tightly still. "The being better part, I mean."

"Well, I dunno… I can play baseball and climb and stuff, so I'd expect myself to be better with my feet…"

Melissa smiled softly, nodding a little. "That makes sense… it is rather strange, now that I think about it. I'm better with my hands than feet…"

Lucas shrugged a bit. "I dunno. Walking around with knives on my feet is a little bit different than playing baseball, so…"

"That's true…" Melissa hummed softly, holding on to his hand a little tighter. "I just don't understand why I'm doing alright with this."

Lucas shrugged again as he clung to Melissa's hand. "No idea. Have you done it before?"

"Once or twice. But like you, it's been a little while." Melissa hummed, glancing down at their feet.

"Well, I've never done it, so you've got a leg up on me…" Lucas pushed forward on the ice again.

"Mm, well I guess so…" Melissa shrugged, pushing forwards when he did.

Lucas bumped into the wall when he reached out and almost fell, but managed to just slide and keep himself up. "At least we're the only ones here…"

Melissa flinched a little when he lost balance, but managed not to let him pull her along too much. "Mhmm, it's nice. Then we don't have to worry about running into other people."

"Yeah… I'm running into everything else enough already." Lucas laughed weakly. "I'm not very good at this."

"You're plenty good, Lu." Melissa insisted, holding his hand tighter. "You don't have to be perfect, if that's what you're going after."

"Thanks for the sentiment, but I'm really bad at this, Mel." Lucas laughed softly and kissed Melissa again.
