"Well, I could tell you about how us gods work, or I could tell you what I know about the others." Derlik smiled a bit, looking back at Nix.

"Whichever you wanna say first is fine… I don't have anywhere to be right now." Nix yawned a bit.

"Well, I think it would be fun to talk about the other gods. How many do you know about?" Derlik smiled, patting Nix's back when he yawned.

"Uhm… I know you, and Halm, and miss Serna, and… the mean one whose name I forgot who upset Cas… Halm mentioned some other ones but I forgot their names."

Derlik thought a long moment.
"Alright then… The first thing I'm going to say is that if someone ever introduces themself as Astral, run. I don't care what's happening, or how nice he's talking to you, never let him near you, never let him talk to you, and never let him touch you."

"Oh… okay. I won't." Nix nodded a bit, curling his tail around himself. "Why not, though? Is he mean?" He asked curiously.

Derlik thought a moment how to word this.
"He's dangerous," the god finally said. "He makes people think he's nice, but he's really not."

"That's not very nice of him…" Nix huffed a bit. "That's… he's tricking people. Tricking people is mean."

(Nix: Tricking people is mean!)
(Derlik: Innocent whistling)

"Yes, it is," Derlik agreed. "And he tricks people to do very, very bad things to them."

(Lmao)
"Oh… like the bad things that Halm did to me?" Nix asked tentatively.

"And worse," Derlik warned gently. "If Astral does ever try to hurt you, though… I'll be able to protect you."

Nix nodded nervously and huddled closer to Derlik. "Mmkay… what other gods are there?" He asked.

"Well, there are the twins, Marcos and Celeste," Derlik said. "They're both really nice."

"Maybe I can meet them someday…" Nix purred a bit to himself. "It gets kinda lonely down here."

"I think they would enjoy meeting you." Derlik smiled a bit.
"And most gods get lonely. There… we're very segregated, and we aren't encouraged to spend time together."

"Mm… why not?" Nix asked curiously. "You guys should be able to hang out with each other if you want to."

"We have work," Derlik said. "Even me. Plus… our creator doesn't enjoy some of us getting along." Derlik shrugged, looking around once as if expecting retribution from someone.

"Why don't they? Isn't it good if the gods aren't fighting?" Nix asked, confused.

"She just doesn't," Derlik said softly. "I… think she likes seeing us hurt."

"Well, fuck her. Y'all are gods. I say do whatever the hell you want." Nix shrugged a bit.

"And she's even more powerful than us. The power difference is the same between you and I- we can't really do anything about it." Derlik shrugged in turn, still holding Nix close.
"But, hey, we're used to it. Besides, we don't really ever have full on wars with each other. Last one was hundreds of years ago."

"But you should be able to hang out if you want to! She made y'all gay so you can't have babies or something anyway, so what does it matter if you're friends or not?"

"Like I said, I think she likes it when we're in pain. And some of us make it work, like Serna and Fale." Derlik sighed, laying down on the ground with Nix laying on his chest.

"Well, that's stupid. Tell her to stop being mean and dumb." Nix stuck his tongue out a bit and huddled closer to Derlik.

Derlik chuckled a bit, running his fingers through Nix's hair. Still, he looked around once. Even he was scared of the creator, it seemed.
"I know," he said softly.

Nix purred happily at the petting and nuzzled against Derlik. "Is she like, always watching? Cuz that's kinda creepy."
