Melissa smiled brightly, reaching out for his hand when they were free. "What about the waterfall? Wouldn't that stir up the pond, or something?" She asked softly, pecking his cheek.
Melissa smiled brightly, reaching out for his hand when they were free. "What about the waterfall? Wouldn't that stir up the pond, or something?" She asked softly, pecking his cheek.
"Well, I dunno. I'm not an expert on that kinda thing." Lucas shrugged a bit.
"I guess we'll have to see when we get there." Melissa hummed, taking his hand and pulling him along towards the fence. "Come on, let's go look for stuff in the backyard.
"Mmkay!" Lucas got to his feet and brushed the snow off of himself. He followed Melissa to the backyard.
Melissa pulled the fence open, about a foot of snow piled up against the fence. "Goodness, there's a lot." She laughed softly, stepping into the snow.
"Yeah." Lucas laughed softly and kicked some of the snow down so they could get in. "Let's find some rocks."
Melissa hummed softly, leaving deep foot prints in the snow as she walked. "I'm going over to the tree, to look for low branches. For his arms."
"Alrighty." Lucas wandered around to grab any little stones that he could find.
"Let me know if you find anything!" She called out, approaching the tree. Glancing up she looked over the branches, grabbing onto one in attempt to pull it down.
"Alright! I've found a few rocks already!" Lucas called back, digging through the snow for rocks.
"Oh, awesome!" Melissa chirped, before muttering something under her breath. With a final yank, she stumbled backwards, broken branch in her hands.
Lucas looked up when he heard the branch snap. "You good, Mel?" He asked nervously.
Melissa turned back, giving him a bright grin and a nod. "Yup! I'm okay!" She called back, dropping the branch in the snow.
"Alright!" Lucas dug around for more rocks, humming softly to himself.
Melissa had started to pull another loose branch down, this one coming down a lot easier than the last. But she didn't know that when she started to pull it down, falling back in the snow as it came fully loose. She wasn't hurt at all, just a little surprised.
"You alright, darling?" Lucas called out again as he dug a couple of rocks out of the snow.
Melissa took a few seconds to respond, trying to let the daze pass. "I- um… yeah. I'm fine." She called out softly, pushing herself into a sitting position.
"You sure?" Lucas asked, looking over his shoulder at Melissa to check on her.
"I- uh, yeah. I'm fine." Melissa insisted, standing up and grabbing the branches. She carried them over to where Lucas was, giving him a half smile.
"Alrighty… I think I've got enough rocks now." Lucas smiled softly and straightened up, his pockets and hands full of rocks.
Melissa nodded, trying to make sure not to hit him with the branches. "Let's go finish our snowman! Let's hope Cody hasn't knocked it down."
"Hopefully not. We could always make another, though." Lucas laughed a bit and headed back to the front yard with Melissa.
Melissa kept up behind him, stumbling as she walked. Though she made sure not to fall. "That's true. We should probably put a leash on him, he's not fenced in or anything. I don't want him to run off."
"True… he's good at coming when he's called, though." Lucas shrugged a bit and knelt beside the snowman to start decorating it.
"I know, I just… I'd rather him not run off in the first place." Melissa sighed softly, dropping the branches next to the snowman. "Where is he, anyways?"
"Hmm… Cody!" Lucas whistled and the dog came running a few seconds later. "Found him."
Melissa rolled her eyes, shaking her head some. "I don't really think that's finding him, if you call him." She laughed a little, dropping down on her knees to scratch behind the dog's ears.
Lucas laughed as well and returned to the snowman. "Call it what you want, he's here now and he wasn't before."
Melissa hummed, kissing the top of Cody's head. "Well, I guess that's fair. But I still don't think it counts." She hummed, nosing against Cody's fur.
"Yeah, yeah… go ahead and put your sticks in." Lucas finished up with his rocks and admired his handiwork with a soft hum.
