Derlik pulled down a stand mirror so Nix could see up close.
"First," Derlik said, "We're going to start with the eyeshadow." He set everything down, opening the palette and pulling the brushes over.
"First, we're going to do a base coat." He picked up a brush, dipping it into the neutral tone an turning to Nix.
Nix nodded and kept as still as possible for Derlik. "Do you want me to close my eyes or keep them open so I can see what you're doing?" He asked.
"I would like you to just close one eye. Can you do that?" Derlik did it with his left eye a moment, smiling.
"Oh, okay!" Nix did as he was told, but kept his eye closed. "Like that? Is that good?" He asked, his ears twitching a bit.
"Yes, you're doing wonderful." Derlik moved carefully, making sure Nix could see the mirror still. He started lightly brushing the base coat onto Nix's eye lids.
"You're very good at this," Derlik said softly, smiling a bit.
Nix purred happily at the praise, his tail swaying a bit. "Thanks! Does it look pretty?" He asked curiously.
Derlik nodded, smiling a bit.
"Yes, it does, and will even more when we finish!" Derlik stopped with the base coat of the left eye, turning to Nix's right.
Nix hesitated a couple of seconds before closing his other eye and opening the one Derlik was finished with.
"Good boy," Derlik cooed softly. He lightly dusted the eye shadow on, humming a soft song as he did.
Nix purred loudly and flushed a bit at the praise, clearly enjoying it. He watched Derlik apply the eyeshadow.
Derlik finished with the base, seeing the brush down.
"Now," he said, "we're going to apply some of this color right here to the side of your eyes." Derlik pointed to a nice, neutral pale pink color, which had a bit of shimmer to it.
"Okay!" Nix kept his eye closed, grinning brightly while he waited for Derlik to finish applying his makeup.
Derlik lightly applied the makeup.
"You're doing really good," he said with a soft smile as he concentrated. "Thank you for sitting so still."
"No problem! Thanks for making me look so pretty!" Nix purred, his tail flicking back and forth.
Derlik smiled a bit. He finished with the second layer, pulling out the brush for the final one he was going to do.
"Here, we're almost done with your eyes," he cooed, lightly applying the smoky affect with a shade darker than the previous.
Nix hummed his assent and continued to purr, smiling brightly while he waited for Derlik to finish up. "Does it look good?"
"It looks wonderful," Derlik said.
"Now, I need you to open both eyes and look up, okay?" He pulled the mascara over, opening it with a hum.
Nix obeyed, opening his eyes and looking up as instructed. "Why do you need me to do this?" He asked.
"I'm going to put some mascara on your eyelashes," Derlik explained. "It's too make them look bigger." He lifted the wand up, gently applying the mascara to Nix's left eye.
"Okay!" Nix cowered a bit at the strange sensation of the brush on his lashes, clearly not quite sure what to do.
"You okay? Do you need me to go slower?" Derlik pulled the makeup wand away a moment. "It's a strange feeling, isn't it." He offered an encouraging smile.
"Y-Yeah, it's weird… slower would be good." Nix sighed and took a couple of seconds to calm down before he nodded. "Alright…"
Derlik moved back when Nix nodded. He slowly continued the apply the mascara, humming softly and being gentle.
"You're doing so good with this," he said softly.
"T-Thanks…" Nix replied nervously, flattening his ears back against his head. He shuffled around a bit, biting his lip while he waited.
With one final stroke, Derlik finished. He moved so Nix could see the mirror, lightly placing a hand on Nix's head.
"You did so good," he cooed. "Do you like how it looks?"
Nix looked at himself and grinned, nodding. "Yeah! It looks great!" He hugged Derlik tightly. "Thank you! We should go show miss Serna." He grabbed Derlik's hand and started trotting out of the room.
"Ah, now hold on a moment," Derlik said, keeping a hold of Nix's hand and not budging yet.
"Serna is sleeping still. Why don't you show it to her after she wakes up?"
Nix pouted a bit, but let Derlik stop him anyway. "But what if it doesn't look as pretty by the time she wakes up?"
"Well, as long as you don't touch it, it will be fine. Here." Derlik reached over, grabbing the setting spray. "Close you're eyes and lean forward into this. It'll help keep everything in place." He squirted some of the spray out.
Nix obeyed, closing his eyes and only flinching a little when his face was sprayed. "Mm… okay! What do we do until she wakes up, then?"
