"It's not fair, though…" Melissa mumbled, burying her face in his shoulder. "You shouldn't be allowed to steal my words…"

"Sorry, darling. You steal mine too, so it's only fair." Lucas kissed Melissa gently again.

Melissa glanced up at him, sighing softly. "Fine… I guess it's fair…" She huffed once more, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

Lucas smiled softly and happily returned the kiss, wrapping his arms tightly around Melissa. "Love you~"

Melissa smiled softly, holding his face in both of her hands. "I love you, too. So very much."

Lucas stuck his tongue out a bit when Melissa grabbed his face, smiling brightly. "You're great, Mel."

"Mm, I'm glad you think so." Melissa hummed, kissing him softly. She smiled a little brighter, nuzzling against him. "I still think you're pretty amazing."

"Mmmm…" Lucas returned the kisses and nuzzles, hugging Melissa tightly. "If you say so, Mel."

"As a matter of fact, I do say so. I love you so much." Melissa hummed, curling up close. "Nothing is going to change that."

Lucas rolled his eyes and gave Melissa one last kiss before he pulled away. "I think it's time for you to go home, Mel…"

Melissa huffed softly, burying her face in his shoulder. "But I want to stay…" She mumbled, groaning softly.

"I know, love. I don't want you to go either, but it's time." Lucas sighed.

Melissa looked up at him with a soft look, sighing softly. Slowly she started to get up off his lap, one hand still on his face. "You gonna be alright?"

"Hopefully." Lucas smiled weakly. "I've got Cody here with me, so I should be. What about you?" He asked.

"I honestly have no idea." Melissa mumbled, giving him a half smile. "I'm hoping so at least. I'll see you soon, alright?"

"Alright, Mel. I love you." Lucas hugged Melissa again before pulling away and picking up Cody.

Melissa smiled softly, kissing his forehead before she gathered her coat. "I love you, too. You take care of Lucas for me, alright Cody?" She hummed, scratching behind the puppy's ears.

Cody whined happily and wagged his tail at the petting. "See you later, Mel." Lucas waved and headed back to his room.

Melissa disappeared out the door as well, pulling on her coat and humming softly to herself as she did so.

Lucas sat down in the waiting area with Cody, trembling with excitement as he waited for Melissa to arrive and pick him up to take him home. He knew it was cold outside, but he was still excited to finally get to be out in it.

Melissa and Mr. Brennahan pulled up to the building, Melissa eagerly waiting for him to park. As soon as the car was shut off, Melissa was out and heading up to the building. She hadn't even bothered to shut her door. Quickly she made her way into the waiting area, a bubbly smile spread across her face. "Lucas?"

Lucas jumped to his feet and hugged Melissa tightly with a bright grin. "God, I love you… ready to go home, Mel?"

Melissa jumped a little, but kept her grin up. She tightly held onto him, face buried in his shoulder. "Mm, can I have just a minute? This is too nice to let go of, right now."

"Yeah, of course… I love you so much…" Lucas held tighter to Melissa and buried his face in Melissa's shoulder.

Melissa smiled weakly, kissing his shoulder softly a few times. "Good gracious I've missed you. I love you oh so much…"

"Mm~" Lucas kissed Melissa in return, humming happily. "And I'm out right before your birthday, too!"

Melissa gave him a weak smile, pulling him back in for one last hug. "I honestly don't deserve you… I'm gonna be honest, I was kind of disappointed when I didn't think you'd be out in time…"

"Mm… well, this can be part of your birthday present!" Lucas smiled brightly. "You haven't opened your second drawing yet, have you?"
