"Which is true. If they ask you how, just say your hurt your arm. For the little kids, it's fine. But don't you dare use that to convince your team to let you play." Melissa hummed lightly.
"Which is true. If they ask you how, just say your hurt your arm. For the little kids, it's fine. But don't you dare use that to convince your team to let you play." Melissa hummed lightly.
Lucas sighed softly. "Fine, fine… I really miss being able to play baseball, though." He huddled a little closer.
"I know you do, and I know it sucks. But you can't play. You'll hurt yourself again." Melissa insisted, playing with his hair. "I love you, and want to protect you."
"I know, Mel… hopefully I'll be allowed to play again soon, anyway." Lucas kissed Melissa gently.
“You promise you won’t try to play any sooner than you’re allowed to?” Melissa asked softly, returning the kiss.
Lucas sighed. "Ughh… fine…" He replied, resting his head against her shoulder again. "I won't play until I'm better."
Melissa let out a weak sigh of relief. "Thank you… I love you, Lu~" She cooed a bit, giving him wide eyed, apologetic look.
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly. "Hopefully I won't have to take physical therapy for much longer…"
"You'll get off sooner, the more careful you are." Melissa whispered, taking his hand in her own. "And I'm not trying to bring the baseball thing back up. I just want too make sure you're being careful."
Lucas nodded a bit and held tightly to Melissa's hand. "Yeah, I know… I'm just getting kinda stir crazy in here."
Melissa nodded, sinking into her thoughts for a couple minutes. Though slowly an idea came to her. "Then let's do something." She hummed as she started to get up from her seat.
Lucas looked up at Melissa, confused. "Do something?" He asked. "Do what? There's not much to do in here…"
"We could dance." Melissa suggested as she shed off her coat. She hung it on the back of her chair. "Only if you want to."
"D-Dance?" Lucas replied, nervous and confused. He glanced around the room. They were alone. "I-I… um…"
"Yeah, dance. It could be fun." Melissa hummed with a little smile. She smoothed down her sweater, and ran a hand through her hair. "We don't have to, though."
"No, no, I… it's fine, Mel. I-I don't mind… I don't really know how to dance, though…" Lucas flushed and looked away.
"I'm not the best dancer around, but I know the basics. I can teach you." Melissa hummed with a little smile. Carefully she pushed her chair under the table before offering him a hand.
"Alright…" Lucas tentatively accepted Melissa's hand and let her pull him away from the table they'd been sitting at.
Melissa pushed his chair in with her foot, giving him a gentle smile. "Just tell me if you're not comfortable with any of this, alright?"
"No, it's okay… I just don't really know what I'm doing." Lucas glanced around the room again. "Do you have music or something?"
"Mm, I do." Melissa nodded, pulling her phone out. After a minute or so, soft music started playing as she set her phone on the table. "You're gonna put your right hand on my waist."
Lucas flushed a bit harder and obeyed, placing one hand on Melissa's waist. "N-Now what?" He asked.
Melissa kept up a light smile, adjusting her position. "Relax. It's not much different than you hugging me, Lu." She insisted in a soft tone, taking his other hand in her own. "Normally you're suppose to lead, but in this case, I need you to just follow me. Alright?"
Lucas nodded a bit, holding tightly to Melissa's hand while she led him along. His heart was pounding and his face was very flushed.
Melissa kept one hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "When I step back, you take a step forward. We're going to step in a square until you're more comfortable." She hummed softly, nodding a little before starting to step back.
"Mmkay…" Lucas tentatively followed Melissa's lead, stepping forward when she stepped back. "Is that good?"
Melissa nodded, still smiling softly. "Mhmm, that's perfect. Now we're gonna step to the left." She directed, starting to move that way.
Lucas followed Melissa to the left, his heart still pounding. He couldn't tell whether he was doing well or not, but he could only assume he wasn't.
Melissa kept up a soft smile, continuing to direct him through the steps. "You're doing great! Better than I did, when Laura tried to show me." She added on, continuing to move in the square form.
Lucas smiled weakly, tightening his grip on Melissa when he stumbled a bit. He didn't fall, but he was definitely a bit startled for a second.
