@Fraust

Cas nodded a bit. "Is your mom nice?" He asked curiously. "I never knew my mom, so she probably wasn't…"

@Fraust

"Alright…" Cas fell quiet, simply huddled up against Nick while he watched the show. He clearly wasn't super familiar with personal space, but he was comfortable.

@Fraust

Cas sat nervously at the table when it was finally time for dinner. "Thank you very much for having me, ma'am…" He said softly to Nick's mother, dipping his head a bit.

@Fraust

Cas thanked the woman again and did as he was told, starting to eat. It suddenly occurred to him that he hadn't told his foster parents where he'd be. He also remembered that he didn't have a phone or know their phone numbers. He panicked a bit, but tried to keep it as internal as possible. He'd deal with it later.

Nick began eating as well, feeling a bit awkward with Cas here for the first time, but overall not bad. His younger sister was busy tonight with some softball thing, and his dad was working.

@Fraust

(Aa thank you!)
After Cas finished eating, he sat silently with a nervous expression. He didn't know how to get back home from here, and he had no way of figuring it out on his own. He didn't even know how far his foster parents' house was from here. He also didn't own a cell phone or know either of his foster parents' numbers, so he was just stuck.

@Fraust

Cas looked up when he was addressed. "U-Um… no, ma'am. I don't know exactly what those are… and I haven't been at the school for very long yet."

@Fraust

Cas considered for a few seconds. "Um… well… Brandon and Ian were… picking on me, I guess, so Nick helped me out."

@MusicElle-is-here

“They were?” She blinked. “That’s odd. Those two are such nice boys usually.”

Nick made a cutting throat motion to get Cas to stop talking. Brandon and Ian were great at manipulating his parents, and Nick’s mom liked them anyway because of their grades and extracurriculars.

@Fraust

Cas cowered a bit when he noticed Nick and looked away. "Y-Yeah, um… they like teasing the new kids, it's really no big deal. I'm fine. Everything is fine. I was also struggling with getting adjusted, so Nick invited me over to help me… um… study…"

@MusicElle-is-here

“Oh, that sounds nice,” Nick’s mom said warmly. “Those two are just having a little fun, don’t mind them. So how are your classes going?”

@Fraust

"Um… not great, but Nick's trying to help me with that. I used to be… uh… homeschooled, so I'm not really used to public school…"

@Fraust

"Um… w-well, it's… it's a difficult transition from… my other situation…" Cas replied awkwardly, still seeming pretty nervous.

@MusicElle-is-here

She nodded. "I'm sure it is, honey," she replied. "Well, I hope Nick has been helping you adjust." Nick could see that Cas was uncomfortable, but could see no way to fix it right now, as his mom would continue to badger Cas with questions throughout the dinner.

@Fraust

"Y-Yeah… we're working on it. I think my foster parents put me in classes that are a bit too advanced for what I know…" Cas sighed.

@MusicElle-is-here

"I'm sure that Nick can tutor you! He sometimes tutors other kids," his mom suggested with a smile. "Besides, you seem like a smart boy. You'll get the hang of it."

@Fraust

"Smart… r-right…" Cas flushed lightly. "He said something about the tutoring thing, yeah. There's just… a lot that I don't know."

@Fraust

Cas flushed harder and looked away. "Uhm… y-you know… normal school things… my dad just wasn't a great teacher…"
