"Mmkay…" Nix kept his eyes closed as he relaxed, still holding his stomach. Cas had drifted off into a fitful sleep by now.
"Mmkay…" Nix kept his eyes closed as he relaxed, still holding his stomach. Cas had drifted off into a fitful sleep by now.
Zachary and Serna looked at each other for a bit, then back to the men they were taking care of. Serna left to get the ice packs. Zachary kissed Cas's cheek gently, and Serna came back to gently adjusted the new ice packs on Nix.
Nix yawned a bit when Serna put the new ice packs on him. "How long do I have to do this? It's cold…" He whined softly.
"We need to get you down a couple more degrees before we can take these off. It shouldn't be too long, promise." She brushed the hair off of Nix's forehead.
Nix whined and leaned into Serna's hand. "But what if it doesn't go down anymore? I'm still sick, after all…"
"The medicine will help, and the ice packs too." Serna left her hand on Nix a moment, sighing gently.
"We'll get you back to normal."
"Okay…" Nix curled up a bit more and sighed softly. "Won't I still be sick tomorrow, though?"
"You will," Serna admitted. "But it'll be a lot better, I promise." She hummed softly, sitting with Nix and keeping an eye on him.
"If you say so, miss…" Nix curled in on himself a bit more. "Do you think I got sick from the dating website guy?"
"Well, that is a possibility. It could also be from the cold down here, or a lot of things sugar." Serna lightly ran her fingers through Nix's hair.
"Yeah, I guess so…" Nix closed his eyes and relaxed into Serna's touch. "That makes sense… I'm not vaccinated for any human diseases, after all. Only cat stuff."
"Yes… Perhaps we can change that after you're over this? It would help…" Serna hummed faintly.
"I guess… where am I supposed to get vaccines down here, though?" Nix asked softly.
"I can get my hands on some. I do a lot to take care of claimed, after all." Serna gently patted Nix's head.
"Okay…" Nix tried to climb into Serna's lap again, really wanting to be held. "Doing that soon, then?"
"Yes." Serna sighed gently, going to move Nix back off of her again.
"I'm too hot for you to be sitting with me, sugar…" she cupped his cheek gently.
Nix flattened his ears back and tilted his chin down, still looking up at Serna while he pouted. "Please?" He pleaded softly.
Serna tried to be strong and resist, she really did. She sighed softly, picking Nix up and holding him close.
"Only for a bit, but then you really do need to lay down…"
Nix smiled a bit and purred softly when Serna picked him up. "Thaaaaanks~…" He rested his head on the goddess's shoulder.
Serna gave a slight smile, chuckling faintly. She rubbed Nix's head lightly, humming faintly.
"You're welcome…"
Nix nuzzled into Serna's shoulder and wrapped his tail around himself, purring a bit. "Being sick is stupid…"
Serna nodded.
"Yes, it is. Still, everyone gets sick. Even gods." She sighed gently.
"Mm… I guess so. It's stupid that I have to be able to get people diseases now, though… I don't like shots…"
Serna gently ran her fingers through Nix's hair.
"No one does," Serna agreed. "But it'll help you."
Nix whined softly and huddled closer to Serna, starting to breathe a little more heavily from the heat. "Do I have to get them all in one go? That'll probably hurt a lot…"
"You won't," Serna assured gently. Her eyebrows knit together when she heard how Nix was breathing.
"I think it's time for you to lay back down," she said. She took Nix in her hands, lifting him off her lap.
"Noooo…" Nix whined, holding his arms up to try and get back into Serna's lap. "I was comfy…" He stuck his tongue out a bit and flattened back his ears, looking down at the couch.
Serna looked away when he did that, having him lay back down.
"You were also overheating again. Once you're fever has gone away we will, okay?"
Nix sighed and curled up into a tight ball on the couch. "Fine… guess I'll just lay here all by my lonesome."
"For now, yes." Serna rubbed Nix's head lightly.
"It's for your own good, I promise."
