I pair Aydin with my characters Odin and June!
Odin is a tall elf with fluffy white hair that's parted to the right and has pool cloudy, green eyes. He is usually seen in casual, yet fashionable, clothing. Odin is a fan of dark green turtle necks, beige coats, baggy black dress pants, and black boots. When hanging out in private with friends, he prefers to just wear plain black sweats. People find him weird and mysterious but, in reality, he is just a people watcher who likes to learn/figure things out for his own sake.
Odin’s favorite subject is mainly history- his own country’s and the one he now resides in- but working with his hands in engineering is a close second. He’s not a very talkative person and is not very strong at making conversation but he will gladly listen to others speak about things that interest him and throw in his every two cents once in a while.
June is short, and fair skinned with curly, strawberry blonde hair, and almond brown eyes. Brown freckles cross over her cheeks and the bridge of her upturned nose. She is pretty lithe, but has the slightest amount of chub on her stomach.June loves to wear soft colored clothing with flowy fabrics. She can usually be found in a thin, loose, long sleeved white top that shows off her shoulders with a blue denim skirt ( that she sown flowers and bees into ) and flat, opened toed, black shoes.
June has a passion for photography and studying the way still figures can mix with the light/shadows to have to effect of movement or something that’s not there at all. She enjoys quiet places and loves to find inspiration for her photography by going to art museums/museums to study and sketch down ideas she comes up with. She hates it when people constantly interrupt her string of thought and will most likely talk for hour to anyone who is willing to listen about her photography and ideas.
I pair Aydin with my characters Odin and June because they all apprentice the beauty of art/history and are very passionate about their crafts!
I imagine Aydin meeting the two while working at they’re museum job. While checking to make sure that nothing has been fiddled with/misplaced, they come across Odin and June standing before an exhibit of 20th century Russian dresses from when the Romanov family finally fell out of power in 1917. ( They notice that June is doing much of the talking, while also sketching something in a book, and Odin listen to her silently.) But Aydin doubted the two knew that much without looking at the displays of information written on a plague hung beside the exhibit. They just guessed they were another couple that thought a ‘museum date’ would be fun but, instead of actually enjoying the history and art, just read the interesting facts made for children to read.
Aydin rolls his eyes at the thought- they’d had the pleasure to experience multiple ‘museum dates’- and, after declaring everything was in order, was about to move on when June calls to them. They expect a mundane question like, where the bathroom was but, instead is met with an onslaught of questions from June about the specific Romanov exhibit- do you know what the fabric is made of? Were the romanov’s killed in these dresses? Who made them?- while Odin casual listens to their conversation without turning his head from studying the dresses. Aydin- concealing his slight surprise- answers the question to the best of his ability. They hesitate to speak every time June starts to hastily sketch stuff down, but learns that she is listen intently and continues on at a normal pace with no stops.
When finished with his answers, June thanks them and strikes up light conversation about her photography- explains that what she was writing down was actually ideas for her next picture- and what it might be. Aydin talks with her for a few minutes and, without thinking too much of it, comments about how couples never usually enjoy dates at the museum. June ceases her talking for a second, but then giggles at the assumption while Odin- finally facing them both- smiles bashfully behind her. Aydin learns that the two had entered the museum separately and on their own accord- Odin came to read the paragraphs of information/enjoy the beautiful and interesting exhibits, while June came to help strike some inspiration for her photography.
Aydin shares the same emotion with June about the couple comment. From then on, the three of them- minus Odin, who only throws in a couple comments here and there- go form display to exhibit talking, chatting, and throwing ideas off each other about which would fit best with what background, color, setting, etc. They make one full loop around the museum to bist each exhibit and- before they know it- all three of them are standing right back at the same display they had met at. It’s a sign to them that their time together will be over soon but, before either June or Aydin can say their goodbyes, Odin wordlessly pulls out his phone offers for the two to enter their numbers into his contacts. This leads to them all swapping numbers, setting funny names, and sending each other a simple ‘hi’ or ‘hey :)’. June is the first one to depart the trio with a big hug and a smile. Once out the door, Odin tells Aydin how much he enjoyed their company today and would really enjoy it if they got together one day to visit another museum across town. Aydin agreed with a smile, shakes Odin’s hand, and then watches the tall man wave himself out of the same door June left earlier.
Aydin is left by theirselves, but that thought doesn’t bother them. They look over at the Romanov display- studying the Russian dress with a squint- and smiles.
Ooo! I really enjoyed doing this one! It’s just the aesthetic and the topic was very fun to work with and- ugh- I just loved it! I hope you enjoyed this trio :)!
