"But pouty Lucas makes me sad… you wouldn't want to make me sad, would you?" Melissa asked softly, looking up at him with big eyes.
"But pouty Lucas makes me sad… you wouldn't want to make me sad, would you?" Melissa asked softly, looking up at him with big eyes.
Lucas sighed softly. "But you're teasing me, Mel… I gotta pout. That's the rules."
"Can't we change them? Just this once?" Melissa pouted as well, pulling his hand up to her lips.
"Ugh, fine… you're lucky I love you." Lucas gently kissed Melissa in return and smiled weakly.
Melissa's smile pulled up as she sat up. "Mmm, I am lucky you love me. I wouldn't ask for anyone else to do so." She chirped, giving his hand a light squeeze.
Lucas sighed, holding a bit tighter to Melissa's hand. "Me either, Mel… what else should we talk about before our time is up?"
"Mmm… oh! I'm going to get my license in a couple of days. I kinda bombed the test a few months ago, and finally feel ready to go back. So there's that." Melissa grinned, seeming pretty confident about this.
"Oh, nice." Lucas smiled softly. "I should probably look into that… I technically have a permit, but I've never actually driven."
"Mm, well, don't stress over it. I ran into a mail-box because I was so stressed. Don't do that." Melissa laughed weakly, yawning a little.
"I'll keep that in mind." Lucas laughed softly. "I'm sure I'll figure it out… how hard could it be?"
"Not that hard, honestly. You might now even find it stressful, I just know for a fact I did." Melissa hummed as she nosed into his hand.
"Mm… well, I'm not exactly the most relaxed person in the world, but I'm sure it'll be fine once I learn how to do it."
"I know that, but there's some things you go through easy-peasy. Things I find intimidating." Melissa shrugged a little. "Like climbing the cliff by your house."
Lucas shrugged a bit. "I wasn't exactly the brightest when I was a kid. I thought Claus knew everything and he was the one making all the reckless decisions."
Melissa sighed weakly, nodding a little. "Yeah, but the way you talk about it, it stresses me out. Clearly it doesn't to you." She insisted.
Lucas laughed softly. "I never thought anything of it. That was pretty normal for Claus and I. Mom was so mad at him when she found out he let me fall…"
"I'm sure- if he was still here and doing it to you, I'd probably be just as mad." Melissa laughed weakly too, holding his hand a little tighter.
"Well, I wouldn't let him do it now. I'm not as stupid." Lucas snickered. "And I dunno if he could hold me on a rope anymore."
"I know, but if it was happening. You best believe he'd have nightmares about me." Melissa hummed a bit, sitting back in her seat.
"I'm sure he would, Mel." Lucas yawned a bit and leaned back as well. "I bet he'd be more careful now too."
"He'd better. My anger goes beyond words towards something like that. Nobody hurts my princess." Melissa responded, a teasing smile pulling up.
Lucas flushed again and huffed. "Don't start with me. I'll pout again and you won't be able to stop me this time."
"Mmm, you sure?" Melissa asked softly, holding his hand with both of hers. "What if I make you laugh?"
"Impossible. I'm an expert at sulking. But I don't wanna sulk right now, so let's talk about something else, yeah?"
"Mmm… fine." Melissa sighed dramatically, kissing his hand. "Have I told you that I've missed you already? Because I hate not having you to cuddle with…"
"I miss you too, Mel…" Lucas sighed as well, just allowing Melissa to have his hand for now. "I love you."
"I love you, too…" Melissa mumbled, resting her face up against his palm. "Mmm… I wish I could stay…"
"I know, Mel, but you can't…" Lucas sighed softly. "I don't want you to be stuck in a place like this."
“But you’re here…” Melissa muttered, looking up at him. “I don’t care how awful it is. I want to be with you…”
Lucas sighed again and shook his head. "Honestly, Mel… you don't want to be here. At least we're allowed to visit."
