"Um… is there anything I'm supposed to do?" Nix asked nervously. "Should I change? This is what I'm wearing in the picture, so…"
"Um… is there anything I'm supposed to do?" Nix asked nervously. "Should I change? This is what I'm wearing in the picture, so…"
"You can change, but you don't have to," Serna said. "Though, maybe you should brush your teeth and hair."
"O-Okay, um… I'll go do that. Thank you!" Nix slid off the bed and waved, running off to go and get ready.
Serna waved a bit, smiling softly. Nix was going to have a fun time, so long as nothing weird happened. Gloria was in the kitchen, holding a carton of ice cream and a spoon. She looked up when Nix came running out.
"You have somewhere to go?" She asked, smiling.
"Mhmm! I'm going to some guy's house for a date. I think it'll be fun!" Nix smiled and headed into his bedroom, starting to comb through his hair.
Gloria nodded.
"Just make sure to be careful!" She called out. The bathroom was huge, of course, similar to Halm's. Still, there was definitely a feminine flare to it, and the counter was almost as high as the top of Nix's head.
Nix climbed up on top of the counter to get himself ready, returning to Serna's room when he was done. "Okay! Ready to go!"
Serna looked up, smiling a bit.
"Alright then! I'll let Cas and Zachary know we're leaving for a bit." She stood, offering her hand to Nix. He seemed happier now, and that was good. He needed a distraction.
Nix nodded and followed Serna out, purring almost inaudibly to himself. "How long do you think I'll be gone?" He asked.
"Well, it could be from a couple hours to all night, depending on how well it goes." Serna knocked on Cas's and Zachary's door, opening it a bit.
"Nix and I are going to Earth for a few hours," she said, smiling gently.
Nix nodded again, still holding tight to Serna's hand. Cas looked up when he and Zachary were addressed. "Alright! Have fun!" He waved before returning to playing with Zachary's hair.
Zachary looked over, offering a smile before turning back. He smiled, leaning into Cas's fingers. Serna closed the door again, picking Nix up now as she made her way out of the house.
"Here's hoping to a good time!" She said, making her way into the shadows. They reappeared in the clearing, same as the one Halm had brought Nix to.
Nix looked around curiously, trying not to let the clearing dampen his mood. "So… where is his place? And how do you make yourself not… obvious? People aren't used to goddesses down here…"
Serna set Nix down.
"Well, his house should be…" she pointed to the left. "That way. And I have my secrets." Serna closed her eyes, and in a moment she was shrinking down, taking on a more human look, and only about 5'7" now. Just a small, petite, plumper woman.
Nix looked up at Serna and nodded. "Alright… will you help me get there, miss Serna?" He asked softly. "I don't wanna get lost…"
Serna nodded. She held her hand out to him, pulling her phone out for directions.
"Here, let's get going then!" She grinned, already moving out of the clearing and into the woods.
Nix smiled and followed Serna out of the forest, and eventually to his date's apartment. He waved goodbye to her when they arrived and knocked on the door.
Serna waved goodbye, disappearing into the shadows of the building to wait.
The door was opened after a minute, revealing the man from the picture.
"Konichiwa," He said, bowing a bit. He had on thick glasses, which hadn't been in the picture, wearing a shirt that had a cat girl on it.
"Please, come in!"
"Uhm… k-konichiwa." Nix replied nervously, flushing a bit. He allowed the man to usher him inside and looked around, his ears twitching and swiveling to take in all the new sounds. "You have a very nice place, sir."
The place, of course, was smaller, and completely covered in anime merch. Posters, figurines, body pillows, everything.
"Yes, I see we have similar tastes," The man said, pushing his glasses up. He smiled at Nix, taking in his dress, ears, and tail. They looked so realistic, even moving. He reached up to touch Nix's ears.
"Where did you get these? There so lifelike…"
Nix shivered a bit when the man touched his ears, flattening them back against his head. "O-Oh! Um… I didn't really get them anywhere, I don't think… they're real." The tip of his tail flicked a bit as he looked around, clearly confused by all of the merchandise. He didn't understand what it was, of course.
The man's eyes widened a bit.
"Real?" he echoed. He looked over Nix again, but there was something different this time. As if he didn't see Nix as alive anymore.
"Can I get a picture?" He asked, pulling his phone out.
"Um… yeah, sure. If you want to." Nix smiled softly as he looked up at the man. "Should I just smile, or…? Sorry, I don't have a phone, so I haven't taken a lot of pictures." He laughed a bit, his ears pricking forward again when his date stopped touching them.
The man nodded.
"Of course, of course…" The man paused. "Here, hold your hands like this…" He lifted his own hands up, one slightly closer to his chin than the other and fingers curled in, almost a mimick of cat paws. He held the phone up, ready to take the picture.
"Alright…" Nix did as he was told, drawing his hands up closer to his chin. "Like this?" He asked softly, cocking his head slightly to the side in confusion.
The man nodded, grinning widely.
"Perfect!" He snapped a few pictures.
"Perhaps… stick out your tongue a little?"
Nix obeyed, allowing his ears to droop a bit. Although he hadn't been expecting something quite like this, he enjoyed the attention, and hence was purring softly.
The man grinned at the purring, finishing up with the pictures. He sent some off to his friends.
"Come, sit," he said, moving over to the couch. He motioned for Nix to sit next to him.
"Okay!" Nix day down beside the man, still purring softly as he looked around at the room. "So… what's your name?" He asked. "I'm Nix! I've never been on a date before, so I'm sorry that I don't really know what I'm doing." He laughed a bit.
"My name is Henry. But please, call me Senpai. And it's alright that you haven't been on a date before, I'll show you how this works." He giggled sightly. His friends had already been messaged, of course, and were on their way.
