A low whistle alerted Oliver of a new message. He opened his phone and saw that his application to work at the bookstore had been accepted. "Finally!" He spoke in a high tone. A few people turned to look at him with a questioning expression but he didn't focus on them, he was too excited to have a job at the one place he was actually looking forward to working.
He tried not to jump at the sudden loud noise from the male beside him. Elijah looked up at him, tilting his head to the side softly, "Are… you okay?" He asked slowly, confused at the excitement that was etched into the others features. Clearly he hadn't been the only one confused at the sudden outburst from the silent man.
Oliver blushed and gestured with his hand. "I'm fine, I swear. My application just got accepted at a place I really wanted to work at and I'm just very happy." He smiled and was about to go back to his book then frowned. "I never introduced myself, I'm Oliver, Oliver Winslow. Nice to meet you!"
Elijah smiled back, nodding softly as the other spoke, "I'm glad you got accepted. It's nice to meet you too, Oliver, I'm Elijah Kingston," He looked to his computer with a soft sigh before back to Oliver, "Mind if I ask where you got accept to?"
"Its a place called The Devil's Halo. It's a really cool place, one of my favourite places to go and study. It has three floors where the top floor is a large patio with a cafe and seating, the second floor is mainly based for college kids and beyond, it has a lot of textbooks, computers, and has a few instructors to help out with things like forming resumes, essays, and even citation. The first place is based for kids an people who want a good book. I love that place, been going there since I was a freshman, so it amazing that I got this oppurtunity!" Oliver smiled wistfully, thinking about all the different memories he formed there with friends.
"Oh I know where that is," Elijah replied, resting his head in his hand, "I've- I've never gone in there though, I've never had the time." In truth he did have time, but whenever he wanted to go in he didn't want to disturb anyone inside since they all looked so peaceful and it never looked like there were seats away from everyone. Besides, he had the cafe, and he liked it here.
"You should come by sometime. I could give you a discount on your purchases." Ollie grinned and took a sip of his slightly cooler latte, wiping his mouth with a napkin afterwards. "If I might ask, do you work?"
Elijah nodded, looking out the window, "Yeah, I do. It's a small craft store not too far from here. Ned's. Been working there ever since I moved into the city."
