Melissa glanced over to him, sighing softly. "Not really." She mumbled, getting up from her seat. "But I guess I don't have a choice, do I?"

"Unfortunately not, darling…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa and led her out of the cafeteria. "We've got next class together."

Melissa looked over at him, taken by surprise. "Wait, really?" She asked softly, clearly not remembering. "I thought that was next period."

"We've got both classes together, darling. Are you sure you're feeling alright?" He asked, leading Melissa to their next class.

"I… yeah. I guess I'm just a little foggy brained." Melissa shrugged a little, letting him lead her on. "I'll be fine, you don't need to worry about me."

Lucas disregarded that, clearly still worried. "Did you not sleep well? Are you sick?" He asked softly.

Melissa shrugged a little, trying to brush off his worry. "I'm fine, Lu." She insisted, reaching the classroom door and went to open it.

"You know you can tell me anything, right? If anything is upsetting you, please let me know." Lucas replied.

"Yeah, I know. But I'm seriously fine." Melissa insisted, holding the classroom door for him. "You really don't have to worry."

Lucas sighed and reluctantly dropped the subject, walking into the classroom with Melissa and sitting down in his desk.

Melissa dropped down into the desk in front of him, turning around in her seat to smile at him. "I'm really alright…"

"Are you sure?" Lucas asked, still holding onto Melissa's hand and looking vaguely worried. "I wanna make sure you're okay."

"I- I guess so..?" Melissa offered weakly, her gaze shifting off of him. "I don't know, now… I think I'm okay..?"

"Maybe you're sick…?" Lucas sighed softly and held the back of his hand against Melissa's forehead.

Melissa was warm, but not an unusual amount. She was normally a little warmer on a regular basis. "I don't think so. Or, hope so, that is. I just started working."

"Alright, well… if you aren't feeling well, you'll go to the nurse, right? I wanna make sure that you're okay."

Melissa nodded softly, folding her arms around the back of her chair, resting her chin down. "Yeah… I… I'm sorry I'm worrying you."

Lucas smiled weakly. "Don't feel bad, Mel. I'll always worry about you because you mean so much to me."

"But I don't want you to worry. You've already got a lot to worry about." Melissa mumbled, yawning softly as she looked up to him.

"I know, but I'm willing to worry about you too, Mel. You're very important to me, okay?" Lucas squeezed Melissa's hand lightly.

Melissa glanced up at him, giving a soft smile. "Alright, alright… though- um, don't stress over me. I don't want something bad to happen… because of me."

Lucas sighed and nodded. "I'll try not to go overboard with the worrying, love… but I'm still gonna be concerned."

Melissa's smile pulled up a little more, and she gently pulled his hand up to kiss. "Thank you. I really just don't want you to- um… y'know."

Lucas flushed lightly and nodded again. "I know, I know… I'm hoping the meds are gonna help. I'm still getting adjusted to them."

Nodding a little, Melissa kept their hands loosely linked together. "Did your therapist say how they were suppose to work?"

"Um… roughly. She said that there might be bad side effects if I'm on the wrong medication. But any medication takes some getting used to."

"Mm'kay, just making sure." Melissa nodded a little, starting to pull back from him— assuming class was going to start. "Well, keep me updated about that."

"Alright, Mel. I will." Lucas smiled softly and held tighter to Melissa while he took notes on the lesson.

Melissa smiled softly, keeping her arm bent back to hold onto his hand. With that class, and the rest of the classes for the day coming to an end, Melissa wasn't at her locker when the final bell rang.

Lucas waited at Melissa's locker for a while, clearly concerned when she didn't show up. "Melissa?" He called out nervously.
