Nathaniel shows the other Kids what he made, and they all collectively decide to try to keep its existence hidden from the Adults? Of course, they eventually get found out sorry not sorry Ark and things escalate poor Rene, but still, could be interesting

"Guys! Look what I made!" Nathaniel darted into the room where the other kids were hanging out, gingerly carrying some strange shaped object in a cloth. "I didn't have any actual work to do, so I made a cactus!" He pulled off the cloth and displayed the metal cactus, grinning brightly and clearly pleased with himself. "The spines are really sharp, though, so be careful with it." He handed the cactus off with the nearest person. "It doesn't exactly do anything, but I think it looks nice. I might give it to someone who wants it."
(so are the others babysitting James right now, then?)
Lysander leaned forward, surveying the cactus.
"Great work, Nathaniel," he said, reaching out to gingerly touch a spine. He held it in his hand and smiled. It was cute, if a bit useless. "Can we do anything with it?"
Nathaniel grinned more brightly at the praise and looked up at the question. "Um… not unless we have someone put electronics in it. It doesn't do anything right now." He flopped down beside Lysander, seeming to be pretty drained from working all day. He had a couple bruises on his arms and a pretty sizable burn on the back of his left hand. "I dunno how to do that kinda thing."
(techy prisoner's puppet master is back up and running)
"I don't know how either," Lysander said, Granted he didn't know how to do much of anything, but that was why Nich was teaching him how to work the engines. "Maybe Nich would! I'd have to wait until he's finished working though." Lysander sighed, leaning back.
"Is your hand alright?" he asked, noticing Nathaniel's burn. "Was that from the cactus?"
Jax grinned, coming closer to see the cactus. "It's so cute! We should get somebody to wire it up! Maybe one of the prisoners we took could do it?" The girl's gray eyes flew to the burn on the boy's hand. "Nathaniel, you should come to my office so I can treat that burn."
"I can keep an eye on James!" Lysander blurted. He took the child from his spot on the floor and held him in his lap. "Er, maybe take the cactus with you? I don't trust James quite enough." Lysander booped James' nose, and he laughed.
"Mm… okay. Do we have to go to your office or can we just stay here? I'm really tired…" Nathaniel sighed and shifted a bit nearer to Jax so he could let her examine the burn more closely. "It's not really all that bad, to be honest…" He touched it gently and winced. "Bit tender, but it'll heal. I was thinking of just getting some ice for it."

James giggled happily as Lysander picked him up, squirming and reaching for the Cactus. He squealed at the boop, grabbing at Lysander's finger to try and get the older boy's finger in his mouth. He was only two, he really didn't have much of an idea of what was going on.
