Cas nodded and grinned as he tucked his head under Zachary's chin. "Yeah. Nix gets incredibly… ah… affectionate, when he's tired."
Nix yawned and huddled closer, entirely unaware of how Halm was feeling at the moment.

"Oh goodness." Zachary laughed a little, holding Cas close and rubbing his back. "I hope Halm can control himself. He might end up, dare I say, kissing the cat!"
Halm closed his eyes, holding Nix a little closer.
"I love you…"

Cas laughed as well, gently kissing Zachary's cheek. "I bet they will. Nix would be confused, though."
Nix purred happily and tangled himself up with Halm, nuzzling against the other again.

"Mm, I wonder if there will be any demand between them. That would be interesting." Zachary smiled softly at the kiss, turning his head to give on in return.
Halm took another deep, deep breath. Nix was too much. He leaned down, nuzzling his face into Nix's hair.

"What do you mean by that?" Cas asked, confused. "By… ah… 'demand'?"
Nix shifted so that his head was right next to Halm's. He nuzzled against the other's cheek, his tail swaying a bit.

Halm blushed a bit more deeply. He nuzzled Nix back gently,staying quiet.
"Well," Zachary said. "Sometimes, when Halm isn't able to handle a situation, sometimes he gets bossy. He might try to make Nix leave him alone, or something like that."

"Ah… I don't think Nix would stand for that. He would probably just stick around and refuse to leave." Cas huddled close to Zachary.

Zachary laughed lightly.
"I could see that happening," he agreed. He patted Cas's back, smile a little. "But I actually worry for him if he tries to do that when Halm is in that sort of mood. It can be dangerous."

"Yeah… I don't know what he'd do then. He might come to us, but he doesn't like you. He's comfortable with Halm. Hopefully Halm doesn't ruin that for him…"

"Hopefully," Zachary agreed. "Even if I'm not too find of him, even he needs someone to be with other than just you." He sighed softly, kissing Cas's cheek again.

"Yeah. He's clearly really attached to Halm, even if he doesn't understand his feelings yet. I think he's coming on a bit too strong just with normal cat mannerisms…"

Zachary nodded.
"Oh, for sure. I'm sure Halm sees it too. Hopefully, Halm will try to help Nix realize it too. There cat is so oblivious…"

"He's not really used to being human yet. For him, being cuddly and licking and biting other people is totally normal… but if he does that as a person, it's definitely seen as romantic or sexual, and even if Halm reminds himself that Nix doesn't mean it that way, it'll feel the same to him. It still feels sexual. We need to show him what's normal for people so he doesn't make Halm uncomfortable…"

Zachary nodded.
"You see, I think Halm has actually caught feelings for the cat," he said, musing. "That'll complicate this a lot, because he'll act the same way."

"Yeah… I mean, he's probably the one who suggested the dress. I'm guessing that Nix just asked for something more comfortable to wear since he's been wearing something akin to dress pants and a collared shirt for a while. He wouldn't have asked for a dress in particular."

Zachary nodded.
"The kinky bastard," he said, in a joking manner. He chuckled softly. "We'll need to explain a lot to the cat, for sure."

"Yeah… I wouldn't have taken Halm to be the kinky type. Or to be the type to be into femboys." Cas snickered, gently kissing Zachary's cheek again. "Nix clearly doesn't understand the meaning behind it. He just thinks it's a comfortable outfit."

"Mhm," Zachary said, leaning into the kiss a little. "I never thought Halm was into femboys either. I honestly thought he was straight."

"I thought you said Mother makes everyone gay so they can't have babies or something?" Cas asked.

"I said I have a theory that that's what goes on," Zachary gently corrected, kissing Cas's cheek. "Halm had been the only one who didn't fit the theory, but now…" Zachary sighed a little. "There was someone before you two," Zachary admitted. "She and Halm… Well, there's a reason her dresses are in Halm's room. But when she died…" Zachary shook his head a little.

"Ah… so I guess he's always been into the maid dress thing?" Cas asked, gently returning the kiss. "Maybe he's bi…?" He huddled a bit closer to Zachary.

"That would make a lot of sense now," Zachary agreed. He held Cas close, resting his head on Cas's with a small smile.

"Mm~… can you tell me more about this girl he was apparently seeing?" Cas asked, looking up at Zachary curiously.

"Well…" Zachary thought a moment. "It was a long time ago. I was still new to the whole god thing. From what I saw… She was a nice woman. Her name was Aiko, and she was always by Halm's side. They were happy together. When Aiko died, though… She decided not to be reincarnated." Zachary paused a moment.
"You know that soul in-between Halm's horns? That's Aiko."

"Really? Wouldn't she be bothered by Halm and Nix's whole thing, though? And by Nix wearing her dress? How did she even die?" He asked, confused.

"If she was bothered, she would have spoken up, knowing her," Zachary said with a chuckle. "And she died of old age." Zachary was quiet a moment.
"There's something I want to tell you," he said, "but you have to promise never to tell Halm."

Cas nodded a bit in understanding and looked up at the last thing Zachary said. "What do you want to tell me? I can keep a secret."

"Well… She confessed to me in her later years she has fallen out of love with Halm. At least, in that way. She said he was her greatest friend in her life, and she didn't want to hurt him. That's why he can't know." Zachary sighed softly.
"She was good to him."

Cas nodded again. "That makes sense… I won't tell him, but wouldn't it almost be better for him to know? If he's wanting to pursue a relationship with Nix, anyway. He'll keep clinging to the love he think he had from her and he'll have baggage going into the new relationship."

Zachary thought a moment.
"He does still love Aiko, true. But… He also knows she's okay with the relationship. She'd told him to find new love when she died. Still, it could be complicated, no matter whether we do or not."
