(Alright! I will get my character up in a bit!)
"Wow, thank you Mister!" Her whole attitude changed, Eden immediately stopped crying and had a smile on her face. Holding his hand might be going to far, so instead she grabbed onto his grocery bag. "So where do you live?" Seeing as they don't know each other, Eden took it upon herself to start up conversations. "I'm Eden by the way, I'm eleven and I'm from Tokyo." Keeping the smile on her face she looked around. Their were many beautiful clothes and lots of good looking treats. Then, her eyes wandered to his bag. What did he buy?
(Sorry these have been so short. It will get longer when the story progresses more.)
Zeddicus really wasn't in the mood to talk to the small girl, but what surprised him was when Eden said where she was from. "Toh kee what?" he asked, raising a brow. Zedd had no idea of a place with such an odd name. It sounded like she made it up on the spot to him. "Did you hit your head or something?" he asked, honestly not caring if he got an answer. At least the girl wasn't overly young. Annoying, but at least he wouldn't be forced to care for someone of a younger age.
"Tokyo, in Japan." Eden was half American, which people would first guess because of her blonde hair. Rolling her eyes, she assumed he was playing with her. "And no, I didn't hit my head." Lie, she did when she fell but she wasn't going to tell him that. She felt eyes on her as they walked side by side. "Where are we going?" Her mom always taught her about strangers, but for some reason, Eden felt that she could trust this man. It was night, unlike at home. Eden was still very much awake, she had always had a lot of energy.
It was fortunate that the walk back home wasn't all too far away from where the young girl had decided to tag along. At least she'd stop asking about where he lived seeing as they were now standing before his building. It was a potions shop, with large showcase windows at the front. The second floor was a roomy apartment. "You make no sense. What the hell is juh pans?" he asked underneath his breath. Zeddicus sighed before waving a hand. "Forget it. You asked where I live, so we're here," he said sounding tired. "Do not touch anything."
Zedd fished the set of keys from his pocket quickly and unlocked the front door. Luckily enough, the shop was closed for the day. Unfortunately, that meant the young girl would be there to annoy him if he didn't do anything.
(Haha, I love him!)
The bottles filled with strange colorful liquids caught her eyes. Shelves upon shelves, stacked so high it reaches the ceiling. Oh, Eden was so tempted to touch them. Though the thought of being thrown out on the street stopped her. "So, what are all of these?" As you walked in, it was a good few feet before the floor dropped down and stairs led to a pond. (Hope you don't mind me adding a little something to his house.) This place was definitely bigger on the inside. A huge smile crossed her face as she ran down to the pond, but when she looked into it, nothing was there. It seemed strange, why have a pond with no fish. Eden was a tad disappointed, but shrugged it off. "You know, you still haven't told me your name. Where I'm from, that would be considered rude." After discovering nothing was there she followed her savior around like a baby chick. She was happy that such a handsome guy picked her up, though if her mother was here, she would be scolding her about stranger danger. Another thing she noticed was how many smells lingered in here, she was thankful it wasn't bad, it was actually quite… sweet. It smelled like the daisies that grow in her yard, it brought her back home.
(Ahaha, glad you do!)
(Go right ahead with adding things to the room. They'd be in the lower level of the building, his shop, which I don't have a complete lay out in mind for yet, so don't worry)
Zeddicus gave a dry chuckle in response. "And where I'm from, it's rude to force yourself into someone else's home. But here you are," he said, walking to set his bags on the curved counter that sat near the small pond. It served as the front desk as patrons bought all their needs in potions. Despite his grumpy disposition, most knew his potions were of great quality.
He watched the small girl run to the small body of water that sat close to the front door. It served both as decoration, but also as a small spring for water for the base pf his potions.
"If I tell you what's in the bottles, you'll only wanna touch them more," Zedd added. Honestly, he had to get rid of the poor girl fast so she could find her parents already. He was far from a good role model. It was actually a surprise that he hadn't cursed in front of her yet.
(Im just going to bump this-)
(Sorry life has been super crazy.)
"I'm not five." Sure, Eden really wanted to touch them, but she knew better. She wasn't a savage. Turning to look at him, the lights from outside shone on him making him look more.. beautiful. "You're a very grumpy person." While Eden was young, she definitely knew how to speak her mind. If he wants her out so bad she'll just leave in the morning. "Where am I sleeping?" There wasn't a bed, from what she could see at least. And the place was a bit messy, but mostly with papers scattered on the floor. The party outside was still a bit loud, and Eden wondered if it was like this every night. Her house was in the forest and not many people were around. She missed that.
(They're still in the shop. The apartment is upstairs and I have a layout in mind if you wanna check Zedd's gallery.)
(I know. It meant to say there wasn't a bed from what she could see. She was curious as to where he slept since there was nothing in the room. I'll fix that.)
Zeddicus rolled his eyes. He wanted to make some sort of sarcastic remark, but couldn't think of how to word his thoughts. It wasn't any surprised that the man seemed irritated. He wasn't a fan of personal interaction, and now he was forced to take care of someone's kid who got lost. Zeddicus turned, moving towards the door behind the front counter. As he opened it, the door revealed a set of stairs leading to an upper floor. He looked back at Eden for a moment before ascending. He hoped she knew to follow him. And if she didn't, then she could sleep on the floor instead of the spare bedroom.
(I am soooo sorry I let this die)
(Nah you're good. I figured you were busy or something.)
Eden's eyes light up when she saw the secret door, well to her it was secret. Everything about this place seemed to surprise her. "So.. is it like this every night or is there some sort of celebration going on?" She couldn't imagine partying every night. Eden quickly followed behind. It was hard to keep up since he took larger steps than she did. Though she didn't know where she was, this place gave off a cozy feeling, the only problem was Zeddicus himself. She wondered if he was always like this, or if something happened.
For once Zedd gave a reply without being too harsh about it. "The city's typically a bit loud, but tonight's kind of special for most. It's a celebration of families," he replied simply. At the top of the staircase was another door. The man opened the door and flipped on a few light switches, illuminating a decent sized apartment. It consisted of a small living space connected to a thin kitchen. Usually places like this had outdated appliances, but Zedd's kitchen seemed to be fairly modern looking. If one looked to the left, there was a hallway with four doors. The left two lead to the laundry room and bathroom. The door on the right was the master bedroom, the last room at the end of the hall being the guest room.
(Okay so I have an idea. I have another roleplay with @/Caustic-Fraust-Is-Beab and Zedd kind of adopts this small angel boy. This could be if the boy died in some sort of accident a few years back and Zedd is really torn up about it)
(Or this can stay it's own timeline where Zedd is really unused to social interaction.)
"Families, I see." Eden was a bit saddened by those words, and Zedd seemed affected as well. This may be something they have in common. The room above did match Eden's imagination at all, she imagined something more dark and gloomy. "Anyway, I want to thank you for letting me sleep here." It must be hard and weird for him to take in such a strange girl. Though in this light she noticed something she hadn't earlier, he had wings..? Gently reaching out her hand, she brushed her finger tips against them. Soft. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize that she actually touched him.
(I like that idea!)
(I talked to Caustic, and she's on board too aha)
Zeddicus flinched at feeling the sudden touches. Even though Eden was being gentle, it reminded him of the past. He didn't want to be touched. "I'd appreciate if you stopped," Zeddicus stated. He wanted to move, but the contact kept him rooted to the floor. Zedd could only remember the way he had smiled up at him when feeling his black wings. It nearly sent shivers down his spine. They had celebrated this day together just last year, laughing and smiling.
Stop. He's gone because of you. You have no right to mourn.
(That's so cute!!)
"You have very pretty wings." Eden skipped in front of Zedd and smiled. Her blues eyes shining, and her long hair in a now messy braid. She was small for her age, but she didn't let it bother her. When she rounded a corner, a picture caught her eyes. He was smiling with a young boy by his side. Son maybe? He different looked different when he smiled, more friendly. Obviously something happened, if the boy was not around and he's all gloomy. Putting together the pieces, Eden knew that the boy most likely past away. Though many questions ran through her mind, she decided not to ask.
(Thank Caustic for the art aha)
Zeddicus blinked as he watched the small girl bound towards the room she would sleep in. He felt odd hearing such an innocent compliment, but the feeling died in his chest as soon as Zedd noticed what Eden was now staring at. He didn't want to have to explain himself in his loss, nor did he want any sympathy. He was not going to get attached nor was he going to break down in front of the child. Zeddicus moved from where he was standing, only to take the photo off the wall and set it in the crook of his arm. The man then turned and took the picture into his own room, shutting the door behind him.
(Sorry, life has been crazy.)
When Zed was gone, Eden crossed her arms and pouted. She didn't understand why he hated her so much. In the picture he had a young boy next to him, so it seemed he didn't hate children, or at least that's what she thought. After a few seconds, she let out a sigh and laid in bed. "I miss you mom." Soon enough she was asleep. Throughout the night she woke up many times, either due to the festival or something else, Eden didn't sleep well at all.
(No worries)
Truthfully, Zeddicus didn't hate Eden. It just hurt him to look at her as she was the same age as his son would be if he hadn't… died.
Zedd set the photo on his nightstand, a few tears on his face. God, he hated crying, but he didn't know how else to deal with the guilt. Self harm was out of the question. Nathaniel wouldn't have wanted that.
So instead, he fell into a fitful sleep, that left him quite tired in the morning. He looked at the photo smiling down at him in the morning light. Stars, Nathaniel would want him to help her, wouldn't he? Zedd sighed, forcing himself out of bed. Either way, he wasn't going to let a child go hungry. Making his way into the kitchen, he began to cook some eggs, toast, and bacon. It was simple and easy.
(Sorry I haven't repliedin a while. I've been really busy. A lot of things are going on in my life right now. I'm not sure when I'll be able to answer. But I'm not abandoning this rp.)
(No worries! I’ve been gone for about a week due to vacation so I’m not going to be replying regularly until maybe Wednesday? Maybe Tuesday?)
