”It’s a little hard not to be when I’m meeting someone that you respect.” she admitted softly.

"Yeah. Sorry." he replied softly.

”It’s ok.” she smiled a little, still nervous. ”At least, you waited to tell me until after the introduction.” she tried to laugh.

He laughed a little. "Well…yeah. Sorry."

Jade shook her head slightly. ”It’s alright. I was genuine…” she said, trying to assure herself a little more. ”It was probably for the best that you didn't tell me until after.”

He nodded. "Yeah."

She smiled a little at him, though her nerves still showed.

Mrs Jones came out after a few more minutes, setting their food down in front of them. "There you go."

“Thank you, Mrs. Jones.” Jade smiled politely. Out of curiosity, she subtlety glanced over at Killian’s plate.

Killian had a burger, similar to hers, but a little bigger. "Thank you." he said, smiling up at the woman.

Jade smiled a little softly and looked around at the restaurant.

He looked over at her.

She turned back to him. ”What?” she asked softly when she noticed he had been looking at her.

"Nothing." He replied with a faint shrug.

She rolled her eyes and sighed softly. ”I probably should have expected that answer.” she chuckled.

He laughed a little. "Mhm."

She smiled with a soft laugh and carefully picked up her burger.

He picked up his own as well, taking a bite.

She hummed a little as she took a bite of her own burger.

He kept eating quietly.

She smiled a little. ”This is really good.”

He smiled. "Mhm. Told you."

She nodded and hummed in agreement before continuing to eat.

Killian took a deep breath, then went back to eating.

She closed her eyes for a moment and savored the flavor.

He hummed faintly, then kept eating.

She smiled softly as she continued to eat.

He smiled back at her.

She blushed a little when he smiled at her, but managed to smile at him again.

He winked, laughing a little as he returned to his food.
