Zachary leaned back against the head board, putting his arm around Cas.
"You're okay," he mumbled quietly, figuring it would be hard for him to comfort Cas is he woke up. He didn't know Zachary, after all.
Halm nodded. He thought a moment on how to handle this, them banged on the door.
"Just in case anyone else is in there," he mumbled. There was a murderous look in his eyes.
(<3)
Cas stirred a bit more, clinging to Zachary and whining. He still hadn't quite woken up, but he was close.
After about fifteen seconds, a young adult man opened the door. "Hello? Who are you? Why do you… have cat ears?" Nix looked up at Halm. He's the one.
(Caustic that's so cool!)
Zachary looked down at Cas waking up. How was Cas going to react? What would he say about Halm and the other being gone?
Halm didn't hesitate once he got the go ahead. He stepped forward, grabbing the man by the neck and pushing him back inside. He changed back to his normal form as well.
"That's not what you should be worried about," he growled.
Cas opened his eyes a bit and looked up at Zachary. He cried out in fear and quickly moved away, his heart pounding.
"Woah, woah, what the hell is going on here?!" The guy struggled against Halm's good to no avail, choking. Nix closed the door and approached the two of them, licking his lips with a sinister grin.
(Halm: hey what do you want to eat)
(Nyx: the memories of the damned-)
(Cas: a bagel- wait what)
(Nyx: make it 2 bagels)
(Cas: no wait, Nyx what did you say-???)
(So Cute! I Love it!)
(I knew this would happen to him-)
(They're both amazing!!!!)
"Please don't be scared," Zachary said quickly. "Halm asked me to watch over you while he and the other were gone." He drew back, giving Cas his space.
Halm grinned as well.
"Nix, if it alright if I take my time with this?" He asked, looking at n Nix a moment. "I want him to feel the pain."
(Tyyy)
"Nix? W-Where did they go? Why did they leave me?" Cas asked weakly, trembling a bit. "Are they coming back?"
"Of course." Nix stood beside Halm to watch, clearly pleased by the terror in the young man's eyes. "Hold on, what the hell did I do?! Why are you killing me?!"
"They didn't tell me where they went," Zachary lied smoothly. Hopefully it was the only one he would have to tell.
"They wanted to get back before you woke up. Please, don't be scared. I'm Zachary, Halm wanted to make sure you stay safe."
Halm smiled sinisterly, turning back to the man. He lifted the man up against the wall by his neck, up to eye level. Despite what the movies said, it took a long, long time to kill sometime by choking them.
"You hurt Cas," Halm purred, pressing closer. "Now I'm going to make you pay." Halm reached up to the man's chest with his other hand, pressing his long sharp fingers into him.
"O-Okay…" Cas hesitated before shifting closer to Zachary and sticking close to him for comfort. He clearly didn't like being alone, and he didn't have Nix here to help him through it.
The man choked, sputtering a bit as he tried to get Halm off. He could no longer breathe, and hence couldn't speak anymore. Nix licked his lips again, still grinning as he glared up at the man. "Should've thought twice about cheating on him."
Zachary carefully stayed by Cas's side, wanting to comfort him.
"I'm sure they'll be back soon," he promised carefully.
Halm's eyes hardened a little. He continued pushing his fingers deep into the man, blood dripping out slowly. He grabbed something, pulling it out carefully. It was the man's heart, still intact and pumping. Halm wanted the man to see Halm squeeze the heart, to watch the light drain from his eyes.
(Halm: I'd never hurt a fly)
(Halm when he finds someone who hurt Cas: torture time!! :D)
Cas nodded, huddling close to Zachary. "W-Why wouldn't they tell me they were leaving, though?" He asked weakly.
The man coughed up blood, his eyes wide with horror. Nix's tail swished from side to side as he watched, still grinning menacingly. It was honestly a miracle that the man was conscious at all at the moment. He couldn't scream. He couldn't cry. All he could do was watch.
Zachary hesitated a moment.
"You were asleep," he finally said. "I'm sure they didn't want to worry you. They wanted to be back before you woke up, after all." Zachary looked down as Cas huddled close.
Halm leaned close to whisper in the man's ear.
"It won't stop after you die. You're soul will come to me, and it won't end until your destroyed." With that, Halm squeezed. Lightly at first, then harder, harder, harder.
Cas nodded shakily, still clinging to Zachary. "I-I'm sorry… if I'm making you uncomfortable, I'll stop, I promise…"
Blood trickled down the man's chin and his eyes rolled back in his head. Within seconds, he'd gone limp in Halm's grasp. Nix watched eagerly, his grin lingering.
"It's alright," Zachary said quietly. He put one arm lightly around Cas. "You're not making me uncomfortable. It's obvious you need this, and I won't force you to stop."
Halm finished squeezing. The man was dead. Halm dropped the heart, reaching into the man's chest. He pulled the soul out.
"Now the real fun begins," he said with a menacing grin
Cas nodded again and shifted a bit closer to Zachary. "Thank you… I'm sorry that all this is getting pushed onto you, though."
Nix examined the body curiously, humming thoughtfully to himself. "What do we do about this? We probably shouldn't just leave it there."
"I don't mind." Zachary shrugged a little. "I want to help you when you're like this. No one should have to feel this way with no one to turn to."
"Why not? Let them know about this. It's not like they can arrest us. Besides, I want the others to be afraid before we get to them." Halm eyed the man's soul. He was holding it by the hair, knowing he couldn't escape.
"T-Thanks…" Cas's voice broke and his eyes stung with tears, but he held himself together for now.
"True. Can I eat the soul or just the memories?" Nix asked, turning to look at the soul struggling against Halm's hold.
Zachary looked down when he heard Cas's voice break. He quietly gave Cas a hug.
"You're stronger than you look," he said softly. "You've made it this far in life."
"Just the memories," Halm clarifed. He had to draw the line somewhere. He casually walked to a couch, sitting down and pulling a vessel out to extract the memories. He held the soul in his lap, jamming his hand into the mouth and up into the head.
Cas hiccuped and returned the hug, clinging tightly to Zachary. "I-I'm sorry, I just… m'not used to people being nice to me… especially when I don't know them all that well."
"Alright." Nix sat down beside Halm, purring as he curiously watched the process. "Do you think he'll be as bitter as Cas's dad?"
"I'm sorry you're not," Zachary said gently. He held Cas close, rubbing his back a little.
"You deserve kindness."
"He might be." Halm pinned the soul down as it struggled to try to force him away. He reached further in, finally finding a place to stick the vessel in. In a moment, the soul stopped struggling, the features of the man being dragged into the vessel. It was quite horrifying painful, thankfully, the man trying to scream around Halm's hand.
"I'm glad you think so…" Cas huddled closer until he was basically just sitting in Zachary's lap.
Nix continued to watch, his eyes wide with curiosity. His ears were pricked forward and his tail kept twitching.
Zachary just pulled Cas completely onto his lap, both arms wrapped securely around him.
"I hope you think so too," he whispered.
Finally, it was done. Halm was holding a soul ball in one hand and the memory vessel in another.
"You just want to eat this straight, or should we try cooking it?" He asked, looking over at Nix.
Cas tucked his head under Zachary's chin and huddled close to him, exhaling shakily. "I'm not sure if I do yet, to be honest.. "
"Ooh, we can cook memories? Into what?" Nix asked curiously, purring a bit. "Fish? Pasta?"
Zachary rubbed Cas's back lightly.
"Then I hope you'll be able to some day. Because it's true." He pulled the blankets up around Cas, wanting to keep him warm.
Halm shrugged.
"Absolutely no idea." He chuckled a little. "I've never done it before. But it would be interesting to try it out." He patted Nix's head with his non bloody hand. He was very relaxed for having just killed a man.
