"I'm sorry." Halm said. He leaned his head lightly against Cas, keeping him close.
"I'm sorry I can't give that to you. But we can make the most of the life we have."

Cas nodded shakily. "W-Why didn't people on earth like me?" He asked, his voice weak and quavering.

"Because they're to stupid to realize how amazing you are. They were too wrapped up in themselves." Halm rubbed little circles into Cas's back.

Cas hiccuped, buried his face in Halm's chest. "I'm s-sorry… I'm being stupid and needy again… that's why they all left me…"

"Cas," Halm said as he wrapped his arms securely around Cas. "If people left you because they didn't want to deal with you when you're vulnerable like this, I'd fucking smite them when I find it who did it. Cas, you're not being needy, because you really do need this. I will never, never say that you can't do this. I'll never leave you because of this. I want to help you, Cas."

Cas sniffled a bit and huddled up against Halm, sobbing quietly. "I-I've had boyfriends before, but every time I… I opened up, and… a-and was vulnerable, t-they left… they l-left me…" He choked on his sobs and coughed.

Halm patted Cas's back softly to help with the coughing.
"If they can't accept you, all of you, then they never deserved to have you." Halm put this head on top of Cas's, daring to lightly kiss the top.
"You deserve so much better."

Cas continued sobbing, rubbing at his teary eyes while he hiccuped. "B-But now I c… c-can't ever find love, b-because I'm stuck here…"

Halm was silent at that.
"I'm sorry," he eventually said. "I'm so sorry I took that away from you, that I could never give you that."

(Cas isn't too picky as long as the other person genuinely cares about him. He likes cuddles, so he probably prefer a taller partner)
Cas buried his face in Halm's chest, shaking a bit. Nix was still dead asleep, nestling his face into the crook of Halm's arm.
(Also someone very patient because he's a needy motherfucker)

(Great. You know that male koi god who's name is escaping my mind because he's so minor? Welp, he's almost completely a blank slate lmao. Cas needs loveeeee)
Halm ran his fingers through Cas's hair, wanting to sooth him. He held Cas close, pulling the blankets up over all three of them.
"You're going to be safe here," he mumbled softly.

(Oooooo more side characters lol. I can have Cas go out alone to talk to the fish about his feelings)
Cas nodded shakily. "I-I hope you're right… I kinda just wanna go to bed and forget about all this…"

"Okay then. That's okay. Do you think you can fall asleep?"

"Y-Yeah… I get tired after I cry…" Cas yawned a bit and huddled close to Halm for warmth and comfort. Nix crawled up and lay on Halm's side in his sleep.

Halm nodded, holding Cas closer. He put one hand on Nix's head lightly, just holding both close to him.
"Goodnight, Cas," Halm said softly.

(You never said his name, so it's free reign. You only ever mentioned Kora)
"G'night…" Cas eventually drifted off to sleep. Nix woke up in the middle of the night and stretched, yawning.

(Great lol. Imma go with Zachary, he seems like a Zachary)
Halm was still awake when Nix awoke, too worried about Cas to fall asleep. He looked at Nix, patting his head a little.

Nix purred, turning his ears back again. He shifted around so he was clinging to Halm's head, purring contentedly.

Halm managed a weak chuckle, keeping quiet for Cas. He reached up, scratching under Nix's chin.
"How you sleep?" He asked, a soft whisper.

Nix leaned into Halm's hand, his tail twitching a bit. "Mm… pretty good. Is he okay?" He asked softly, looking down at Cas. "It looks like he's been crying…"

(Torin: what's in that room?)
(Marcos, sweating profusely: a murderous alligator, don't go in)
(In the room: Wren be chilling with an alligator god, just vibing)
