"Not today," Halm said. "Everything for today had been taken care of." He smiled softly. "I have some free time."

Cas nodded a bit. "Do you wanna do something, then?" He asked, petting Nix idly.

"Well, normally if I have free time I either go up to Earth, or just watch television or read." Halm stood, picking up the empty plates and going to put them away.

Cas nodded again, thinking. "Um… do you have a preference? I'll do just about anything, to be honest."

"Not really. Visiting earth is nice, though." Halm turned back to Cas.
"Does that sound good?"

"Yeah, sure. It's probably warmer up there anyways." Cas shrugged a bit.

Halm nodded.
"Well, you ready to get going?" He asked.

Cas nodded, sliding off his chair. "We'll be back soon, Nix."

Halm held his hand out to Cas, heading out of the room.

Cas accepted Halm's hang and followed him out.

Halm led Cas out the door, finally picking him up. He stepped into the shadow of the house, and in a moment they were in the clearing in the forest.

Cas blinked a bit in the sunlight, sticking close to Halm. "It feels like it's been washed since I've seen this place… but it hasn't really been that long, has it?"

Halm thought a moment.
"Not even a week yet," he said. He smiled softly. "But it's been really nice."

Cas nodded, still looking around. "I wonder if anyone's noticed I'm gone."

Halm thought a moment.
"Someone must," he said. He moved to set Cas down, but he would easily pick Cas up again if Cas wanted him to.

Cas didn't ask to be picked up again, but he grabbed onto Halm's hand and stuck close to him. "Like, two people maybe."

"Still, that means someone cares enough to notice." Halm held Cas's hand lightly, patting his shoulder.

Cas shrugged. "My boss is probably glad I'm gone. One less person to pay."

Halm sighed softly.
"And the other person?"

"The person who owns the apartment I live in. He might notice I'm not paying rent."

Halm sighed again.
"I'm sure there is someone who's worried about you," he said gently.

Cas shrugged. "Not really, to be honest. I wasn't exactly popular here."

Halm thought a moment. He sat down, still taller than Cas.

Cas sat down beside him and sighed. "I'm sorry."

"For what?" Halm asked, pulled out of his thoughts.

"I dunno… I just feel bad and I feel like I should apologize."

"It's okay, Cas," Halm said gently. He put his arm around Cas.

Cas sighed and leaned against Halm. "My life on earth was pathetic."

Halm rubbed Cas's back gently. The great and them waved lightly on the breeze, the sky orange from the setting sun.
"You're not pathetic," Halm said gently, "your circumstances were. Things will get better."

"Mm… I hope so." Cas closed his eyes and huddled close, breathing in the fresh air.
