(Okay but Cas and Nix are so cute)
Cas huffed indignantly and Nix purred to relax Cas. "Stop being so good at your job. I'm trying to be intimidating." Nix stuck his tongue out a bit and huddled closer.

(they're adorable and both I and my characters would do anything to keep them safe)

Halm smiled softly. Nix was so good with Cas.
"Cas, no offense, but you're even more adorable when you try to be intimidating."

(Lmao)
Cas huffed again, clearly pouting. As both a cat and a human, thus just made him more cute. "Am not…" Nix nodded a bit, agreeing with Halm. "Stop agreeing with him!"

"It's hard not to when it's the truth!" Halm said, laughing a little.
"Cas, you're adorable. All the time. Just admit it," Halm teased.

"Nooo…" Cas buried his face in Halm's chest, muffling his whine. Nix lay his head back on him and sighed.

Halm laughed some more, patting Cas's back.
"You're not gonna change my mind on this," he said with a smile. Cas just brightened everything about Halm he seemed so much happier than when he had been standing in the clearing in the woods.

Cas whined again in protest, but he couldn't exactly win this battle. Nix nuzzled against him affectionately.

Halm smiled gently.
"Right now I'm a little sad you aren't human right now," Halm said. "Because your blush is so cute."

Cas buried himself further, his ears flattened back against his head. "Noo…" Nix sighed softly and stuck close.

"Cas, if you think yourself and further into my shirt you'll fall down my chest," Halm said with a chuckle.
"Would you like me to stop?" He asked gently.

"M'not cute…" Cas insisted, keeping himself buried. Nix rolled his eyes a bit.

"Fine. I'll let it drop. For now." Halm chuckled a little, reaching down to lightly scratch Cas's head.

"Noooo…" Cas retreated further and, as expected, fell into Halm's shirt. He meowed loudly and tried to figure out how to get out.

Halm blushed a little. He carefully assessed the situation, then unbuttoned how jacket and the buttons of his shirt near Cas. Cas tumbled out onto his hand, which had been waiting for him. He buttoned his shirt back up, laughing lightly.
"I told you you'd fall," he said gently. "Are you alright?"

Cas was rather ruffled, but overall fine. "Yeah, m'alright…" He got up from where he was laying and went to lay on Halm again.

Halm helped Cas, smiling softly.
"That's good," he said. He chuckled softly.
"It's almost lunch. You ready to change back, or would you rather stay like this?"

"Um… you can change me back. You should make Nix a person too. I'd like to see what he'd look like."

"Okay then." Halm reached up to Cas, setting him down and turning him back. Then, he reached out his hand to Nix, letting the cat come to him before turning him human.

Nix turned into a tall, pale man with fluffy black hair and piercing blue eyes. He was about a foot taller than Cas, who crossed his arms and huffed as he looked up at him. "How come my cat gets to be taller than me?" He whined. Nix grinned and ruffled his hair affectionately. He was a tad clumsy in his human body, which was understandable.

Halm smiled at the interaction.
"But don't you know," he said, standing up and basically towering over both of them. "All the best things come fun sized." He smiled, heading to the kitchen. He kept an eye on Nix, making sure he didn't trip in his new form.

Cas huffed and led Nix into the kitchen by the hand. "Can he talk?" Cas asked. Nix looked around curiously, clearly interested in taking in his surroundings from a different level.

"I'd say so," Halm said. He looked at Nix as he started cooking.
"Can you?" He asked the cat-turned human.

"Mmmm… yes." Nix said slowly. "I believe so." Cas looked up at Nix curiously. "Formal, are we?" He snickered a bit and Nix rolled his eyes.

Halm chuckled a bit, turning back to the food.
"Is there anything either of you would like to eat?" He asked.

"I'll eat anything." Cas said. Nix nodded in agreement. Nix stood very close to Cas, clearly still very protective of him and now actually able to defend him if needed.

Halm nodded, glancing over. He was glad Nix cared so much for Cas. Cas needed others in his life like that. Even if they were normally cats. Halm started cooking, smiling softly.
"You guys can sit down if you want. I can get another chair."

They both nodded and sat down. Nix dragged a chair over beside Cas's and still kept close to him. He was a bit jumpy, always glancing around to make sure they weren't in danger.

Halm hummed a little as he cooked.
"How much would you like, Nix?" He asked, looking over his shoulder. Halm understood Nix's jumpiness.

"Food." Nix replied, humming softly as he kept looking around. "However much you give me, he can have." Cas replied for Nix.

"Alright then," Halm said with a little smile. He finished cooking, bringing the two plates over for the others before leaving to get himself a chair. He came back with it, getting his food and sitting down across from them.
