"I love you more~" Lucas deepened the kiss, holding Melissa close to himself.
"I love you more~" Lucas deepened the kiss, holding Melissa close to himself.
Melissa had the brightest smile on her face, loosely slipping her arms over his shoulder. “Mm… whatever you say…”
"We should really get going." Lucas reluctantly pulled away, smiling softly.
“But I don’t want to…” Melissa whined, not pulling back. “I like this… and I like you.”
"Mm… me too, Mel, but we've been here for quite a while." Lucas gently kissed Melissa again.
Letting out a slight huff, Melissa nodded. Though she didn’t move from her spot, or try to pull away. “You remember what direction we were headed?”
"Not really, but I can figure it out." Lucas hummed softly and led Melissa along by the hand.
“Mm, alright. I’ll trust you.” Melissa hummed, resting her head back on his shoulder. “It is your neighbor hood after all.”
Meh… our nearest neighbor is like a mile away. We're kinda secluded." Lucas shrugged, continuing to walk anyway. "Either way, I know how to get to town from here."
“I knew that… I just wasn’t sure what else to call it.” Melissa hummed, copying his shrug. “But yeah, you’re the one who lived here.”
"Mhmm…" Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek and kept pulling her along. "It's not too far…"
“I dunno if that’s good or bad. I like getting to walk with you, but I’ll get to see your face once we get there.” Melissa hummed, glancing up at him with a smile.
Lucas looked over at Melissa, confused. "What do you mean?" He asked.
Melissa looked up at him just as confused. "The diner being far, I don't know if it's a good or bad thing. I- honestly I don't know what I was trying to say."
Lucas nodded a bit, continuing to walk. "Well… whatever you meant, we should be there soon."
"Mm, alright…" Melissa hummed softly, standing on her toes to peck his cheek. "I probably already asked you, but what is one thing you wanted for your birthday?"
"Um… I dunno. I don't really need much." Lucas shrugged. "I like spending time with you… um… sketchbooks are nice, I suppose. Soft things are cool… baseball related stuff as well. I never really thought about it much before."
Melissa smiled a little, nodding. "Just thought I'd ask… I don't really have much else planned for today, is there anywhere you wanted to go?"
"Not that I can think of. We already went to the clearing and the sunflower field. Maybe we can go onto the roof at some point…"
Half freezing up, Melissa nodded just a little bit. "The roof- at my house… right." She mumbled a bit, trying to think of somewhere else- anywhere else really- that they could go.
"Not right now, though. We're getting food first." Lucas smiled softly.
"Yeah- I know. Just… just thinking out loud." Melissa hummed, shrugging just a bit. They couldn't go back to her house, and she doubted that he would want to stay at the diner for two hours…
Lucas hummed softly as they walked, oblivious to Melissa's thoughts. "We could always go back to the park and walk around in the main area."
"You wouldn't be opposed to going back?" Melissa asked, pushing her thoughts away. If he really didn't mind going back, it gave her some extra time.
"Nah, I like it there. And it's gorgeous outside." Lucas looked around, humming softly to himself.
Exhaling a deep breath, she nodded. "Alright, then can we go back to the park after lunch?"
"Sure. Sounds good to me." Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek and made it to a main road.
"Alright, then it's settled." Melissa hummed, glancing around at their surroundings. "Looks like we made it out."
"Mhmm. I went this way to school hundreds of times." Lucas smiled softly and headed over to a sidewalk.
"Oh, right. That makes sense." Melissa hummed, linking their fingers together. "I wish we had lived closer, maybe then we could have walked together."
