"Please do. I'll stop asking for now, then." Phoenix hummed softly, smiling back at her. "Because I have a feeling it's bugging you, and you're not saying so." Sipping from his coffee, he glanced back over at her. "Right?"
“Mmmmmaybe,” Cicada responded with a slight singsong to her voice. She took another sip from her coffee, “But I’m not going to admit that.”
Phoenix chuckled, shaking his head with an eyeroll. "Didn't you just admit it, with your excessive maybe?" He asked her, while pointing out the obvious. "I mean, it's kind of obvious."
"Nope, maybe is an ambiguous answer in itself," Cicada responded with a little smile and laugh, "So I didn't admit it, but you can come to your own conclusions."
"Alright fine. I'll give that to you." Phoenix hummed, draining off the last of his coffee. "But I feel we both know that I know I'm bugging you. So we both conclude I'll stop talking, before it gets worse. Correct?"
"Correct," Cicada gave him a little nod. She smiled over at him before finishing off her own coffee. She dropped it into a nearby trashcan, "Sooooo what now?"
Following her example, Phoenix dropped his own drained cup in the trash. "I dunno. I haven't really got anything in mind particularly." He hummed, furrowing his brow in thought. "I mean, we could go to the park. Or just keep walking."
"I think just walking would be fine with me," Cicada responded with a light smile. She hummed a little and started to drag him along, "Come on let's explore a little. I know today was supposed to be a calm day, but I need some adventure."
"Mm, but haven't you had enough over the weekend for a lifetime? Or at least for the month?" Phoenix asked with a little whine, dropping his shoulders. He was joking, of course. "I can't handle this much."
"Are you kidding me? I love adventure!" Cicada responded with a laugh and grin. She looked over at him and gave him a little bump, "And now that your friends with me get ready for some more adventure in your life."
"But adventure is so exhausting…" Phoenix continued to whine, pouting a little. "We have to actually do stuff, after a day of doing other stuff, and pretending to be an adult."
"Yeah, but it's not like we're having real adventures," Cicada responded playing along. She kept smiling at him and hummed once more, "We're just exploring the town, well I am at least."
(Do you ever start responding in the voice of another character, even though you know who you're suppose to be writing for? Because I just did lol)
"Mm, guess that's true." Phoenix admitted, standing up straight as they continued walking along "I just- I dunno where I was going with that. I think I'm just whiny." He hummed, pulling up a little smirk.
(My characters often reflect my current mood, so I feel that lol. Trying to write a happy scene when all I want to write is angst can be… difficult.)
"I could tell," Cicada laughed again and kept walking with him. She pulled her smirk with him and kept going, "But you do understand that this stuff is going to keep happening if you keep being friends with me."
(Oof, lol. I feel that, but with other forms of writing. We can always try and move things on a little, after their Friday Night Festivities.)
"Yeah, course I do. I know that, because it keeps happening. If I hadn't learned that by now, I must be an idiot." Phoenix said with a light laugh. He honestly didn't really care, and was just happy to be hanging around her. Whether it was because of bad or good circumstances.
(You want to skip Friday Night or write through it?)
"Yep, good thing you aren't an idiot." Cicada smiled over at him and kept walking. She was glad he wanted to keep hanging around her because she really liked hanging out with him too, "Might have to ditch you otherwise."
(Ahh, skip would probably be best. I have a feeling this will start to drag more and more if we keep writing. Though I'm going to put in something before we skip.)
"Why, I'm quite offended." Phoenix told her with a laugh. "I best be careful, then. You might leave me if I get stupid." He told her as they continued on with their conversation down the path.
(We're good to skip anytime, honestly)
(We can skip now if you want to.)
(That sounds like the best plan to me. Do you mind posting first?)
(Sure, we're starting the next morning right?)
(I believe so! Assuming that's Friday night?)
(Okay so now I'm confused. Are we rping through Friday night?)
(Ah, I'm confusing myself.)
(To my understanding, we were just skipping to Friday, and rping for that. After that, I thought we would find something to advance the plot line a little, so we're not stuck in a rut.)
(But that's just what I thought.)
(Okay. Okay, that makes sense. Sorry I got lost lol. But yeah I can start. Maybe Friday evening would be the best place?)
(Seems like a good plan to me! And it's all good! I was totally confusing, and I know that)
(Got it! Give me a moment. You're fine. You were confusing, but I've also been like at half mental capacity all day lol.)
(Take your time! Though I am headed off for the night, so I'll have a better reply in the morning. And I feel that so hard, lol)
After classes Cicada had gone out to the local stores, the ones she could find at least, and bought what she could. She had a few makeshift shot glasses and the typical solo cups. A bottle (or two) of whiskey, a bottle of vodka (just to make sure they got reaaaal drunk), and a couple of cases of beer of varying qualities. It felt too proper to buy wine or any fancy alcohol, they were just college kids being stupid. She sent a text over to Phe, 'You coming over soon?'
'So you didn't forget.' Phoenix responded laughing a little as he made his way down the path. Estimating that he was about five minutes away, he let her know that he was already on his way. As soon as he had informed her, he tucked his phone away and started back on down the path. He was trying to enjoy his last few moments of peace before whatever she would have planned tonight. It wouldn't be good, that was for certain. But as long as it wasn't too illegal, he could get by it.
Cicada had maybe possibly already started drinking. It was only the cheap beer so it was having no effect yet. She checked her phone and smiled figuring she should greet him down front. Leaving the open can of beer in her room she began to make her way down to the first floor. It was on her way down that she realized she was just wearing a hoodie and sweatpants instead of her ‘usual’ dresses, okay chill, ’Nope. You’ll be here soon I’m guessing?’
