She rolled her eyes. "Maybe not but when any ounce of positivity is beaten out of you, it's kind of hard to live that way."

“Maybe it’s just because I’m a stubborn asshole…Ethan you think that’s why?”
“I don’t know, why’re you asking me?”
“Because you’re the only one who knew me well back then”

"Yeah, you seem like the type to go against anything and everything. I'm not that defiant."

“Well you are correct. That’s exactly what I do.”

"I know it is. I can tell by your criminal record."

“I would disagree but…that was spot on”

She smiled a little. "I know it is."

“You Can read me pretty well and not gonna lie, feeling kinda threatened.”

"That sounds like a you problem."

“It is a me problem. Ethaaaaaaan.”
Ethan sighed. “What?”
“You’ll protect me right?” He made a pouty face up at him.
“Hell no”
Jax gasped. “You asshole!”

"I mean, you really expected him to protect your sorry ass? Yeah right." She snickered.

“Not like I need it but I’d appreciate it if my best friend actually had my back.” He said still pouting immensely. Ethan just ignored him

"Yeah, that's not gonna happen."

“I hate both of you.” Jax said
“Cmon Jax I know you loooooooove me”

"And you know you love me too! You love us both, stop denying it."

“No you’re both annoying.”

"If we were that bad, you wouldn't be around us."

“You don’t know that for sure. I have a rather high tolerance.”

"Not high enough to stand being in here for longer than 15 minutes if that was truly the case."

"You're lucky you're so cute or else I would've actually been mad." She giggled.

He just smiled a bit and looked out the window.

She went back to watching the world pass by the window, losing herself to her thoughts.

For once the whole car was actually silent.
